Like a few other later Game Boy Color games, Shantae is GBA enhanced, meaning the game improves when played on a Game Boy Advance. Specifically, improved colors and a secret Tinkerbat transformation dance can be unlocked. These features, however, are not available on the Virtual Console version.
In the Virtual Console version, the GBA enhanced features are missing due to the game being programmed to play in Game Boy Color mode. This makes the enhanced colors and Tinkerbat transformation dance inaccessible. The Capcom logo at the beginning of the game has also been removed.

You know, I’ve been playing Shantae for a while now, and I have always wondered why all the female characters in Shantae are over-sexualized. I believe that it has something to deal with the phrase “Sex Sells” but I’m not too sure.
If anyone has an opinion or an answer to why the female characters have large breasts...please tell me.
This depends on how it is view. The game is fun and simple and it started way back. When a new iteration arrives it gets refined or changed to a different style ( pirates curse // half genie hero ).
It might be over sexuallyized in your tastes but some people find it cute in their own views.
Also sometimes bellydancers can showcase alot of sexualized materials since the outfits are nearly associated as mermaid themes.
Finally they often put some puns or hilarious scenarios.
Shantae is a fun loving character and she inspired me alot.
But dont you forget. Even the past. I dream
Of jeannie was considered sexualized.

In fact this games townfolk is also full of different types of women
And if you explain riskyboots and shantae. Those girls were fit on their own. Pirates life is labor intensive while shantae is a belly dancer who onced work at the parlour ( before konami slams them saying you cant make that anymore).
That is true...and understandable...after all Shantae is perfect in every way, she’s cute, funny, lovable, loving, caring, adorable, beautiful, and straight out sexy (don’t get the wrong idea), so who wouldn’t love her. Though on the topic of Risky and Shantae...WayForward should just make a game where Shantae and Risky finally admits that they love each other because it’s totes obvious, wouldn’t you agree.
I think it already happened before whe risky lost everything and has nonone else to turn to. Granted it was shortlives but the way she cooperates with shantae was amazing. Thats why i love pirates curse

Loved all the girls wearing the snake princess attire
Oh and shantae is a pirate and used a new gaming mechanic
And it was abit of a great long adventure to enjoy ^_^.
I knew that much...but I mean it’s totes obvi that they should end up together...after all other than protagonist/antagonist, why else would they take the time to fight each other... and you know what people say, the more two people fight, the more they love each other. So in all respect to Shantae and Risky, they obviously have the hots for each other...but then again, that’s just my opinion. Though I might just start another discussion just about Shantae and Risky’s love life
Yes I know that the girls in shantae are sexy like shantae for example she wears nothing but a top and people can see her breasts but you know what? I ignore that because I have no interest in that stuff I just like to see cute girls in the shantae series but the only character that everyone loves her breasts is giga mermaid because when I saw a video on youtube called giga mermaid is best girl there were the ridiculous posts where they were just talking about her boobs.
Its still amazing though. The color palaettr fitd perfect and well.
Something another game company shouldve listen when doing mighty (failure) no 9

Sorry, I am not used to screen typing. Even if i did get the spelling right/ grammer right, it becomes problematic and hard to listen to myself if it sounds correct. Plus the autospelling does this without my approval.
I am not dumb or stupid, just having issues trying to make sense.
It is better for me to explain in pictures than with words.
Half Genie Hero is rated T for a reason.
