Rise up now (а теперь вставайте), mount your light black steed (садитесь на своего бледно-вороного коня), ride to the summer-house of the princess and her father (и скачите к беседке принцессы и ее отца; summer — лето; house — дом; summer-house — дача, летний домик; садовая беседка, павильон в саду), and give her the thimble (и отдайте ей наперсток)."

The king's son did as Shaking-head told him (королевич сделал так, как велел ему Качающаяся голова). When he gave up the thimble (когда он отдал наперсток), the king said (король сказал), "You have won one third of my daughter (ты завоевал мою дочь на одну треть: «одну треть моей дочери»; to win /won/ — выиграть, победить; заслужить, снискать, добиться, завоевать)." But the princess was bitterly angry (а вот принцесса была очень разгневана; bitterly — горько; /эмоц.-усил./ сильно, очень) and vexed to the heart (и рассержена до /глубины/ души /тем/; heart — сердце), that any man on earth should know (что какой-то человек в мире: «на земле» знал) that she had dealings with the giant (что у нее были отношения с великаном; dealing — распределение /чего-л. среди кого-л./, раздача, разделение; дружеские или деловые отношения); she cared more for that than anything else (это ее волновало больше, чем что-либо еще; to care — заботиться /о ком-л., чем-л./; беспокоиться, тревожиться, волноваться).
The king's son did as Shaking-head told him. When he gave up the thimble, the king said, "You have won one third of my daughter." When the second day had passed (когда прошел второй день; to pass — идти, проходить; идти, проходить, протекать /о времени/), and the king's son was going to bed (и королевский сын ложился спать: «собирался в постель»), the princess gave him a comb to keep (принцесса дала ему на хранение гребень: «гребень, чтобы сохранить /его/»), and said (и сказала), "If you don't have this for me in the morning (если у тебя не будет его для меня /завтра/ утром), your head will be put on the spike (твоя голова будет насажена: «положена» на тот самый колышек) that's left in my father's garden (который остается /пустым/ в саду моего отца; to leave /left/ — оставлять)."
The king's son took the comb with him (королевский сын взял гребень с собой), wrapped it in a handkerchief (завернул его в платок), and tied it to his head (и привязал его к своей голове).
When the second day had passed, and the king's son was going to bed, the princess gave him a comb to keep, and said, "If you don't have this for me in the morning, your head will be put on the spike that's left in my father's garden."
The king's son took the comb with him, wrapped it in a handkerchief, and tied it to his head.
In the night the princess came with a draught (ночью принцесса пришла /к нему в комнату/ с напитком: «глотком»; draught — сквозняк, тяга; доза жидкого лекарства, глоток) which she gave him (который она дала ему /выпить/), and soon he was asleep (и вскоре он заснул). Going back to her own chamber (по возвращении в свою собственную комнату), she struck the maid with her rod of enchantment (она ударила свою служанку волшебным жезлом; to strike /struck/), and made a great yellow cat of her (и превратила ее в большого желтого кота: «и сделала большого желтого кота из нее»).
