Shadow Studio — Privacy Policy

Summary — Shadow Studio does not collect, track, or transmit any personal data. All photo editing happens entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your iPhone.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Shadow Studio ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use the App on your iOS device. By installing or using Shadow Studio, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We designed Shadow Studio to be privacy-first. We do not collect, store on our servers, or share any of the following:

— Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, Apple ID)

— Device identifiers or advertising IDs

— Location data

— Usage analytics or telemetry

— Crash reports (beyond what Apple collects at the OS level, if enabled by you in iOS Settings)

— Your photos or edited images

3. Camera Access

Shadow Studio requests access to your device's camera only when you tap the "Camera" button to capture a photo within the App. Photos captured this way are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party. You may revoke camera access at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Shadow Studio.

4. Photo Library Access

When you tap "Studio" to choose a photo from your library, iOS presents its built-in, out-of-process photo picker. Shadow Studio only receives the specific photo(s) you explicitly select — it has no general access to your library. When you tap "Save", the edited image is written back to your Photos library using the standard iOS save flow, which requires the "Add to Photos" permission. This permission may be revoked through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Shadow Studio.

5. Local Storage

Shadow Studio stores the following data on your device only:

— Your app preferences (theme, haptic feedback toggle)

— Presets you create (shadow configurations you save for reuse)

This data is stored using standard iOS UserDefaults and never leaves your device. Uninstalling the App removes this data.

6. Third-Party Services

Shadow Studio contains optional external links in the Settings section (for example, Instagram profile and a contact page). Tapping these opens a third-party application or the Safari browser. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of those third-party services. Please review their privacy policies separately.

7. Children's Privacy

Shadow Studio is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children or from any user.

8. Data Security

Because all processing happens on your device, the security of your data depends on the security of your iOS device. We recommend keeping your device and iOS up to date, and protecting it with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
