We're approaching summer 2022, and as temperatures rise outside, Netflix is cranking up the heat indoors! Things are positively sizzling on the streaming service. For this list of the sexiest movies now on Netflix, we're including erotically-charged thrillers and dramas, films with red-hot chemistry front-and-center, and more. This adult movie list features classics and new favorites from around the world, theatrical releases as well as Netflix originals.
Here are the steamiest and sexiest movies on Netflix right now.
Co-produced by Rashida Jones , Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus ' adults-only doc examines the evolving world of amateur porn, specifically following the lives of several 18 and 19-year-old actresses. Followed by limited series Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On , also streaming on Netflix.
This intimate—well, very intimate—documentary follows the late career of Italian Rocco Siffredi , one of the most famous male porn stars in history, now retired. Rocco received positive critical notices following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Following his brilliant, underrated knockout black dramedy Beatriz at Dinner , Miguel Arteta helmed this experimental sex comedy about lesbian lovers ( Alia Shawkat and Laia Costa ) who meet at a club, then get to know each other via having sex every hour on the hour for a solid day.
Directed by Daniel Goldhaber , this Netflix original is about an adult webcam performer who discovers a sinister presence has taken her place on the internet . Cam has some truly frightening moments, and it examines the subject matter of sex work with appropriate care and thought. Most notably, it showcases a head-turning lead performance by The Handmaid ‘ s Tale ‘s Madeline Brewer , often playing multiple entities on-screen at the same time. Thanks to a perceptive script by real- life former cam girl Isa Mazzei , Cam is often an examination of fractured identity, something that’s definitely not limited to the world of adult entertainment. Cam stumbles a bit at the ending, but it’s full of provocative ideas, and Brewer just floors you.
Anna-Maria Sieklucka and Michel Morrone in '365 Days'
In this massive hit for the streaming service, a smokin' hot babe with an air of innocence about her is kidnapped by a mafioso who happens to be a 10/10 chiseled stud. The crime boss gives the young lady one year to fall in love with him; sexy antics ensue!
365 Days is essentially Fifty Shades of Grey with Italian flavor. The storytelling is as clunky Fifty Shades , and the story has been equally chided for its misogynistic undertones. None of that prevented the skin flick from becoming one of Netflix's biggest successes of the year. The envelope-pushing nudity and sexual content helped it become the domain's most-watched movie in summer 2020.
Around the one-hour, seven-minute mark, lies "the boat scene," one of the most intense and graphic sex scenes in a mainstream picture in years. Brace yourself.
Esteban Crespo 's Goya Award-nominated picture stars María Pedraza and Pol Monen as young lovers whose intense passion could be their relationship's downfall. In Spanish with subtitles.
Starring Nicholas Hoult and Laia Costa , this sexy drama follows two Los Angeles-based millennials who hit it off after meeting via a hookup app. Directed by Drake Doremus and written by Ben York Jones , Newness premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, to mixed-to-positive critical notices.
Released on Netflix earlier this summer, this French-produced raunchfest centers on three forty-something female friends who begin hot n' heavy affairs with much younger men. Be super, super careful when Googling this one.
Some stunning eye candy (those cheekbones on star FĂ©lix Maritaud !) punctuates this powerful, acclaimed coming-of-age drama. Young gay love is part of the plot, so is devastating tragedy. Like the bodies on display, this plot is a beauty, told in non-linear fashion with some suspense and surprise. To ruin it would be a disservice. Just watch it already.
Teresa Palmer and Max Riemelt in 'Berlin Syndrome'
So abundant we might as well make them their own genre, movies about kidnapped females generally go one of two ways: It’s either all about the suspense, figuring out how and if she will get out—or there’s the nastier route, the really low road, when some movies focus on a woman’s torture and humiliation, turning it into spectacle.
Though Australian director Cate Shortland ‘s adaptation of Melanie Joosten ‘s novel about a tourist imprisoned by a handsome teacher after a passionate one-night-stand is a thriller (quite heart-pounding at times), and much of the woman’s mistreatment is extremely hard to watch, this highly absorbing psychological drama stands out because it’s all about the characters and what’s going on in their heads. It also differs from other films of its ilk in that this nightmare begins with genuine erotic tension and heat, a mutual attraction.
Aussie-born Teresa Palmer of Hacksaw Ridge fame delivers a ripper of a performance as a victim suffering in stages not unlike the stages of grieving. German Max Riemelt ( Sense8 ) keeps up every step of the way as her chilling and multifaceted captor, but this is Palmer’s film, and it gave the dynamite actress long-relegated to playing love-interest side characters a serious calling card in Hollywood.
A collection of four short films from top Bollywood directors explores everything from masturbation to adultery from the perspective of women in love and lust.
Emile Hirsch and a sultry Elisha Cuthbert star in a crass, entertaining rom-com about a high school senior who falls in love for the first time with the girl next door... only, she's a porn star. The Girl Next Door received mixed reviews and lukewarm ticket sales in 2004, but over time has developed a cult following.

Christopher Atkins and Brooke Shields star in a successful, critically maligned romance about shipwrecked innocents discovering their bodies. Followed by an even slighter sequel starring Milla Jovovich .
Brent Bonacorso 's You Get Me stars Bella Thorne , Halston Sage and Taylor John Smith . Centered on a rebound fling that leads to obsession, it'a all an attempt to recreate the alchemy of popular erotic thrillers of the late '80s and early '90s, like Fatal Attraction and Basic Instinct .
AKA Elisa y Marcela , Isabel Coixet 's erotic historical drama is an account of Marcela Gracia Ibeas and Elisa SĂĄnchez Loriga , and the first same-sex marriage of Spain's modern era. A Spanish production (in Spanish and Portuguese with subtitles), Elisa & Marcela was selected to compete for the Golden Bear at the 69th Berlin Film Festival, and received a limited theatrical release via Netflix.
The much-hyped sequel has gotten critical reception so chilly (0% on Rotten Tomatoes, all of "8" on Metacritic) it makes the original look like The Bridge on the River Kwai . Nevertheless, 365 Days: This Day has proven another massive hit for Netflix. In This Day , lovers Laura and Massimo aim to move on with their lives post-mafia conflict. Massimo's past and a love triangle are among the lovers' new obstacles. The film has been noted for—what else—its graphic, constant sex scenes, including a golf scene that bends the traditional rules of the game.
Sexy, glossy and a little wan, Justin Chadwick ‘s period piece from the 2001 novel of the same name is a fictionalized account of the love triangle between Henry VIII , his mistress Mary Boleyn ( Scarlett Johansson ) and her sister, Anne ( Natalie Portman ). The Other Boleyn Girl received mixed reviews, though the performances, most of all Portman’s, were praised.

So instead of spending your hard-earned dollars at the movie theater this weekend, check out these sexy alternatives and settle in.
If you want to stay Grey-adjacent, try this 2002 film starring James Spader as E. Edward Grey and Maggie Gyllenhaal as the precocious secretary with whom he ends up in a BDSM relationship. They fall in love, and they wrap things up in one reasonably compelling movie instead of three horrendous ones.
Where to watch: YouTube/iTunes rental or purchase
This movie was the sexual awakening of a generation, from "draw me like one of your French girls" to that literally steamy car scene. If you want to skip all that depressing sinking, this is one time you're allowed to.
Where to watch: YouTube/iTunes rental or purchase
Director Alfonso CuarĂłn's 2001 film couldn't be further from the Harry Potter film he'd direct next. Starring Maribel VerdĂș, Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal, Y Tu MamĂĄ TambiĂ©n is all kinds of sexy and worth watching and rewatching this Valentine's Day.
You've got to love when a sequel learns from what didn't work in the original. Magic Mike XXL trims the extra muscle from its predecessor -- which is to say, the plot. Where Magic Mike took dark turns regarding drug abuse and power, its sequel is a road movie that amps up the spectacle and plays to its characters' sexy strengths.
Where to watch: YouTube/iTunes rental or purchase
This movie has everything: Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, wine, Spain! Two women's jaunt through Europe takes a titillating twist after they meet a magnetic artist (Javiér Bardem) and his tumultuous ex-wife (Cruz).
Where to watch: YouTube/iTunes rental or purchase
This movie is mostly romantic , but look how sexy Quincy (Omar Epps) and Monica (Sanaa Lathan) are as they find love on and off the court! The young neighbors fall for each other while training to become professional basketball players.
Where to watch: YouTube/iTunes rental or purchase
Is there anything sexier than stolen glances and a graze of the skin? Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara's chemistry pours out of the screen, fueled especially by Carter Burwell's dusky score.
Where to watch: With Showtime Anytime or a Showtime addition to Hulu or Amazon subscription.
If you like your sexy with a dash of existential depression, then look to this Dustin Hoffman classic based on Charles Webb's novel of the same name. Benjamin Braddock embarks on an affair with his older neighbor Mrs. Robinson, only to subsequently fall in love with her age-appropriate daughter Elaine. Afterwards, share a glass of wine with your partner while listening to Simon & Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence." If that doesn't get you in the mood, what will?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bollywood incarnation of Romeo and Juliet is oversaturated with drama and violence, but at the center are the painfully attractive Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh (now a real-life couple). They look ready to rip each other's extravagant clothes off in every single scene, and you'll be rooting for them to go through with it.
Where to watch: Einthusan (with HD and subtitles)
Everything changes when Zorg (Jean-Hugues Anglade) meets Betty (Béatrice Dalle), a fiery woman whose passion verges on madness when they run away together. Betty experiences flashes of violence and depression, and as the film progresses Zorg must decide what's best for his wife's happiness -- and his own. Also, the original French title -- 37° 2 le matin -- refers to the temperature of a pregnant woman's belly in the morning, so there's that.
This 2000 movie has France, magic chocolate, Johnny Depp and the equally magical Judi Dench. Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche) travels Europe as a chocolatier whose fares win people over even in the traditional French village of Lansquenet-sous-Tannes. Watch with a box of chocolates, as long as you won't be too disappointed that they aren't of Vianne's making.
No this isn't a movie, but this show is perfect. Yes, it has a lot of sex, but it's never voyeuristic; the leads have palpable chemistry, and their sex scenes are infused with a sense of intimacy and comfort.
Where to watch: With a Starz subscription, or Starz addition to Amazon Prime subscription

Here's the thing. People have sex. Movies have sex scenes. Wouldn't it be intriguing if a movie featured two actors having actual, consensual sex, instead of just mimicking sex in a way that looks great onscreen (opens in new tab) but is almost certainly very, very awkward in real life? (opens in new tab) Yes, obviously, we're aware that porn exists, but we are not talking about porn here. No, we're talking about actual, mainstream (or, at very least, as the level of "mainstream" (opens in new tab) achieved by arthouse foreign films and indies) movies with actual plots that also happen to feature actual humans engaging in actual sex acts. Don't roll your eyes—these movies exist. And, not only do they exist, but there are, honestly, way more of them out there than you probably realize—and we're just highlighting 75 of our favorites.
You read that correctly: This list contains 75 movies that have answered your prayers and made all of your sex-obsessed dreams come true. They all feature plenty of sex (opens in new tab) , and, unlike most of the sex you see onscreen, the moments of hotness in these movies is all completely, totally, and one hundred percent real . It's intense and kind of hot (opens in new tab) to see people have sex in a movie and know it's actually real, and that's what you'll get with these movies. As you might expect, a lot of these movies are indies and foreign films—realms where pushing the envelope, especially in the realm of carnal pleasures, is more accepted. But, some of them feature fully mainstream stars and Oscar winners like Al Pacino, Mark Rylance, and even Dame Helen Mirren.
In 2005, this documentary dug, um, well, deep, into the iconic 1972 pornographic film Deep Throat and its cultural impact. In the name of education, it contains 20 seconds of unsimulated fellatio courtesy of the source material, along with interviews a range of people including Linda Lovelace, Gore Vidal, Larry Flynt, Hugh Hefner, and John Waters.
Speaking of documentaries, 1968's They Call Us Misfit , followed two young hippies named Kenta and Stoffe and was notable (opens in new tab) for being the earliest example of non-simulated sex in a "legal" movie in Sweden.
If you like your horror with a healthy side of sex, 1973's Female Vampire is a must-watch. The movie is literally about a woman, (the Countess Irina von Karlstein), who is essentially a sex vampire—as in she needs sex instead of blood to stay alive. The unsimulated sex comes in during the murder scenes, in which the Countess performs oral sex on her victims until they die (as you do). There were three versions of the film—one that's a standard, mainstream horror movie, another that mixes the horror with sex, and a third that's straight up hardcore porn.
Another film with multiple versions is Emmanuelle 5 . The 1987 French film is part of the ongoing Emmanuelle series and exists in three distinct versions—its original theatrical cut, a French home video version with extra hardcore sex scenes, and a US version that includes new scenes that were filmed in a more comedic style.
In the movie, Emmanuelle is a filmmaker who debuts a scandalous, erotic film at Cannes. The original release of Emmanuelle 5 was met with some controversy due to speculation that director Walerian Borowczyk actually only directed the sexy film-within-a-film.
This 1969 movie was one of the first examples of the "women in prison" genre and there are reportedly four versions of it in existence, including JesĂșs Franco's director's cut and a French hardcore version released in 1974 that includes more than eight minutes of new, hardcore footage filmed by Claude Sendron.
Starlet , released in 2012, is an indie drama set in the porn capital—the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. It's not surprising, then, that the movie includes some unsimulated sex.
This drama, also known by the title I Am a Groupie! , about groupie life in the rock music scene, was written by director Derek Ford and real-life former groupie Suzanne Mercer. The movie was originally released in 1970, but was re-released in 1974 with additional, hardcore scenes added in.
