I am shocked that there are parents here that do not seem to find anything wrong with "sexting". Obviously, these kids are a product of some screwed up parents and obviously were never taught dignity, morals, values and self- respect. There was a segment about a "church going" family and the daughter was sexting, the moral of the story was "See, it can happen to anybody", what a bunch of BS! My theory is, if your daughter is sending nude pictures of herself to a boy is because she is DESPERATE for attention. It is like the whole, "we were a perfect family and our daughter is now a stripper", gee, how could this be? There is always something ****ed up that would encourage these type of behaviors.

Again, I reiterate... it is only anataomy being photographed - not something I'd want my daughter to do, but if she did make that mistake, it is not something I feel she should hide her head in shame over to the point of suicide. We see teens all the time being given condoms or find out they are sexually active as a society and we are desensitized to them professing their sexuality, yet when they take a nude picture, all hell breaks loose. To me, the one professing to be sexually active at such a younger age is the one who should feel the most shame, but again, not an unforgivable shame. Nothing, in the eyes of God is unforgivable.
i have female friends that send me nudes all the time. I dont ask for them. I just assumed most people do this nowadays for attention purposes.

There are phones out there with no camera in it. Give them these phones and save some money while you're at it. Have internet only in the computer which is at home and in the living room. Block porn sites and if possible get a e-mail filter where people can't send pics, if there's such a thing as that.
I have my kiddos locked down through the router. Any site they visit that I do not approve of gets added to the blocked list. I have the history saved to a folder their user account does not have delete privileges to. No matter what they do wrong it will only happen once. Now days they don't even try to go anywhere without asking first.
My oldest has a phone with 5 buttons. Police, Mom, Dad, Home, and disconnect/end call. I only let him carry it when he is outside playing or at a friends house. It can only dial the 4 numbers. No text no camera, very durable.
Part of being a parent is knowing they are kids; give them an inch they take a mile.

The misfortune of sexting pics to your parents is not something you want to do in any way, shape, or form. But cringingly that's exactly what's happened to these unfortunate women, who have learnt the hard way the dangers of our interconnected, instant messaging times. Because lets face it, if you are going to send sexting pics to the wrong person, your parents will be the last people on earth you would choose to be the recipient.
Alas, accidents happen and sending a text to your parents by mistake is something many of us have done. But it's fine when that text was to your significant other just asking if they could wash the dishes. It's something else altogether when you're sexting pics to a beloved and they go, not just to the wrong person. But to mom or dad.
But it gets worse, much, much worse. Sometimes the sexting pics misfortune between parents and children can get horrifically reversed, conversely, when mom (or dear God forbid dad), accidentally sexts their kids—which there are a few examples of here too, just in the name of fairness to balance things out.
Of course parents aren't totally naive, they understand that 'send nudes' is something that goes on among their sons and daughters. But Christ, they don't want it shoved in their face by actually receiving those explicit pics. Equally, children don't want to be on the receiving end of sexting pics of their mom in compromising positions.
The lesson to be taken from all this is that, whoever you're sending messages to, just be extra, extra careful when sexting pics to someone. Check that phone number. Then check it again. Then check it again. And maybe again just for luck. Then if you're really sure, press send. But just remember that once that send button is pressed, it can't be undone. Always remember, whatever has been seen can never be unseen . Ever.
