Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, on Saturday, said he does not know nor have contact or relationship with a South African parliamentarian, Zanele Sifuba.
Sifuba is at the centre of a trending sex scandal in South Africa over a leaked video tape.
The Director, New Media to the Governor, Kola Oredipe, in a statement explained that Diri has not been to South Africa in the last ten years describing media reports linking the governor to the trending story involving the female South African parliamentarian, as a mere distraction.
Oredipe said that the Facebook account on which the post was made purportedly belonging to the woman was created on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
He explained that the scandal first appeared in the social media in South Africa on Oct 31, and was linked to an unnamed Nigeria youth adding that those behind the post twisted it with a fake account with the governor’s image with the intent to tarnish his image.
He wondered how a governor of Bayelsa State would resort to blackmail for N8 million and urged the public to discountenance the story which he described as untrue and lacking in merit.
The statement titled, ‘Trending South African Sex Story: A Mere Distraction’ reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a fake news circulating online about Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State over an alleged nude video leak of a South African female legislator, Zanele Sifuba.
“The post linking the governor to the allegation suddenly appeared on the Facebook page purportedly belonging to the woman after trending for more than a week.
“Our investigation however revealed that the said account is fake and was only created on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
“For a scandal that initially appeared on the South African media space on October 31 and was first linked to a ‘Nigerian youth,’ it is obvious those behind the new twist opened the parody account with the deliberate intention to tarnish the image of the Bayelsa Governor.
“Sadly, even without any effort to confirm the ridiculous allegation against the governor of a state, a few Nigerian online platforms rushed to publish the fake news from the ‘Zanele Sifuba Facebook’ account without investigating its source.
“Let it be stated without any equivocation that Governor Diri does not know and has had no contact nor relationship with the said woman at the centre of the scandal. He has also not been to South Africa in the last 10 years.
“While we have read about a purported attempt to collect R300,000 from her, the ‘young blackmailer’ is certainly not Governor Diri.
“Ask the question: why would a governor of an oil-rich state resort to blackmail for a mere R300,000 (about N8 million)? This is simply ridiculous.
“Clearly, political mischief-makers have gone on overdrive in their desperation to tarnish the reputation of a hard working, calm, peaceful and focused Governor of Bayelsa State.
“This story is just another failed attempt to distract the man that is single-minded on his developmental agenda for his state and who has in the last six weeks devoted his time and energy to managing the devastating flood that hit Bayelsa.
“The public is, therefore, advised to discountenance the news as it lacks merit and has no bearing whatsoever with the Bayelsa Governor.
“Let it also be stated that there are consequences for publishing falsehood. The anonymity of the social media should not serve as shield for calumny and character assassination, with grave legal implications. Unfortunately, those portals circulating this unverified post have fallen into the trap and its repercussions.”
The Sex Party review – spiky comedy fails to satisfy

Timothy Hutton on The Sex Party: ‘Do I think it will be controversial? I don’t know …’

Menier Chocolate Factory, London There’s tension in Terry Johnson’s tale of four couples meeting for sex and nibbles but the unruly debate isn’t deep enough
A t first, The Sex Party looks like a retro BBC sitcom about swingers, although that term is banned at this adult shindig. Four couples collect for sex and nibbles at a cool north London postcode. There is gleeful talk about getting it on and a fair share of parading around in lingerie and thigh boots.
But Terry Johnson’s spiky comedy takes us from the familiar fare of smut and sniggering double entendres to something bolder and more awkward in the sex/gender debate at its centre, even if it does not reach a satisfying end.
We only ever see what happens in the high-end kitchen (set designed by Tim Shortall) but we get a vivid idea of the action in the living room from the moans and groans we hear. In a production also directed by Johnson, the acting stays fine across the board although the characters are flimsy (Lisa Dwan especially does wonders with her part) and the star casting of Timothy Hutton stays strangely marginal for too long. He drifts on and off stage, saying little and looking like a cliched California guru in yoga pants.
The dialogue often goes off on random, unruly riffs; one character (Will Barton) talks about taking MDMA and the dialogue sounds under the influence too.
The play’s grenade is lobbed as the first act closes, with the entry of Lucy (Pooya Mohseni), a trans woman, and from here on in it feels like another play altogether. Doris Lessing, in a Penguin introduction to Lady Chatterley’s Lover, wrote that what happens in the bedroom is a “report on the sex war” outside it and it seems to be the case with this living room; suddenly, no one wants to convene there and a very live tension is in the air.
Much is flung at us, from talk of toilets to language and JK Rowling and it feels genuinely edgy. It is brave of Johnson to grapple with a debate that has become so divisive that a meeting of this kind would be unimaginable in real life. But arguments come thick and fast without being explored. Johnson seems to be shooting an arrow through the issues of the day – including, too briefly, consent – but it comes to feel like a dramatised version of Twitter.
The room exposes its bigots and we finally see the point of Hutton’s character but as more plot-points are lobbed at us in the closing moments it feels much less like a sitcom than an entire series rolled into one production.

And here’s where you can watch ’em all yourself. 😏
There’s nothing like cuddling up with your S.O. (and a whole bunch of snacks) on date night , only to end up fighting about what to throw on the TV. A scary movie ? A romantic comedy ? A thriller flick ? All great options, but to really make the most of your alone time, a sexy watch is where it’s at. If you feel like you’ve already seen every erotic movie on Netflix or hot film on HBO Max , though, don’t fret. There’s a ton of scorching ‘tent getting released all the time, and it turns out the newest sex movies of 2022 could basically double as (ethical!) porn ; they’re that hot.
Real quick, though, before we get to the good stuff, we just gotta remind you: It’s totally okay to watch movies purely for the sex scenes . You can even fast-forward to the sex if you’re looking for a lil self-pleasure inspo . There are no rules here, people! But if you feel like sitting down for an evening of ~cinema~ (or just want to put something on in the background that you can make out to) sexy movies are kinda tops. Granted, some of them are critically acclaimed, while others are…not as good?...but you still get the build of the tension between characters, and their long-awaited hookups either way. Decent plotlines and hot sex? We truly love to see it.
And TBH, 2022 sort of had it all by way of sex movies. There aren’t just P-in-V offerings anymore, folks. We’re talking longing glances, heavy breathing, and steamy chemistry between actors that eventually bubbles over into the kind of passionate scenes you definitely want to watch with your favorite vibrator at the ready. From orgies to oral sex , 2022 might have been the sexiest year for the movie industry, and for that, we’re orgasmically grateful.
Sure, it's a thriller/spy movie, but if we've learned anything from films surrounding agents, it's that the sexual chemistry is always off the charts (looking at you, Mr. & Mrs. Smith ). In one particularly scorching scene, Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton have wildly passionate sex that involves thumb-sucking. Thumb-sucking, I tell you!!!
What could go wrong when a group of sexual 20-somethings gets together for a hurricane party in a remote mansion? Well, a lot, but in between the satire, fake friendships, and—yup—murder, there's a whole lotta sex appeal as well. Also, seeing Pete Davidson say, “I look like I f*ck,” is lowkey art. I said what I said.
While a Viking movie might not *sound* hot, The Northman is full of nudity and sex, plus it features an orgy scene that proves people back in the year 895 were just like us! Supes horny! Also, FYI, the film stars icons like Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Willem Dafoe, so it's worth the watch for the faces alone.
A South Korean rom-com about two co-workers who enter a "play contract"? Yes, pls. In this take, though, Jung Ji-woo serves as a dominatrix, thus flipping the script on the usual "men are the dominate ones" typically seen in BDSM storylines.
Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller star in this oddly erotic sci-fi thriller surrounding experimental drugs. There are some major voyeuristic elements at play here, like when characters receive a love drug that causes them to have wild sex in front of an audience of all-too-interested observers...
Emma Thompson stars as Nancy, a retired teacher who’s never had an orgasm, so she hires Leo (Daryl McCormack) to, well, give her one (read: several ).
The chemistry between Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman makes this version of The Batman sexy as hell. Watch it now, thank us later.
This rom-com about a group of gay men who vacation in Fire Island every year is equal parts endearing and sexy. Between the hot make-out scenes, sexual energy, and will-they-won’t-they dynamics, you’ll be glad you watched, trust.
Remember when 365 DNI came out in 2020 and the internet collectively salivated over the sex scenes between Laura and Massimo? Yeah. Part 2 is out and you can watch it on Netflix rn. Disclaimer: The whole premise of these films is problematic as hell, so, uh, feel free to fast-forward to the good stuff and leave out the rest, k?
Technically, this was released in 2021, but it looks like it wasn’t available for streaming in the U.S. until this year. Author Jane Fairchild reflects on her early life as a maid having a ~very steamy~ affair with the aristocratic son of a neighboring family ( The Crown ’s Josh Charles). Based on a book of the same name, be ready for some hot secret sex.
A boring writer discovers he’s a massive hit in Mexico because his translator rewrote his book into a hot, hot erotic novel. The sex in this might be more on the page than onscreen, but, duh, it’s a rom-com, so be prepared for some art-meets-life hotness.
You remember “the movie where Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas started dating for a bit”? Well, this is that movie, an erotic thriller about a very unhappily married couple who are allowed to have all the affairs. It didn’t get a theatrical release , but the book features hot people having sex before bad things happen to them. So….
What happens when a group of adult-film actors move into an old farmhouse to film but said old farmhouse belongs to a creepy old couple and the wife is seriously disturbed? Tune in to find out.
Pleasure is about a porn star named Bella Cherry who's new to the game but will do whatever it takes to be the best in the biz. There's a whole lot to *ahem* see in this movie as Bella rises in the ranks of the Los Angeles porn industry.
That same Regency-era sexual tension that made you obsess over Bridgerton ? Yeah. You’ll find that here too. Right this way, fans of will-they-won't-they couples with copious amounts of sexual tension!
Just one look at Austin Butler as the iconic Elvis Presley tells you everything you need to know. See why The King's gyrating hips ushered in a whole new era of music (one that involved lusting after the musician who made said music).
Kristine Froseth plays a 26-year-old woman who is new to sex and starts an affair with her older boss. Ofc, drama ensues. Directed by Lena Dunham (who’s never shied away from sex before so you know it’s gonna be spicy) and featuring Luka Sabbat and Scott Speedman playing a successful online porn star , I mean…sign us up.
I know what you’re thinking: No way this movie is sexy when it’s about fighter pilots and combat. Well, false . Just wait for the football scene. (IYKYK.)
This is primarily a psychological thriller, but *not-so-spoiler alert* Florence Pugh and Harry Styles are hot and have terrific chemistry (+ multiple sex scenes between the pair focus on “female pleasure”). Oh, and considering how much drama surrounded the Don't Worry Darling release, it's worth a watch just to see WTF all the stars were *allegedly* fighting about.
Ana de Armas brings Marilyn Monroe to life based on a fictionalized book of the same name. There's a lot involved in Blonde ’s NC-17 rating, including a few sexually violent scenes. But there’s also plenty of hot consensual sex (including a celeb threesome!), so be ready to feel a range of emotions while watching the highly-anticipated flick.
