Sex Toys: Female condom
Sexvibrators
When we think of condoms, the male condom always comes to mind, because you should know that there are also female condoms on the market designed for them.
What is the female condom or internal condom?
The internal condom or female condom is another type of condom different from the one we usually have in mind (the male condom) and that works, like that, as a perfect method of contraception. Designed for use by women, the female condom offers the same level of protection against pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases as the male condom.
The main difference is that, in this case, of course, it is not placed on the penis but inside the vagina.
Although it has been popularly known as a female condom, we must clarify that anyone, of any gender, can use it to have vaginal or anal sex. That is also why its "internal" name.
The female condom hit the market back in 2008, by the hand of Lasse Hessel. However, it is known that already in ancient Greece, similar methods were used that were made of goat bladder.
How is the female condom used?
Let's now analyze, step by step, how you should use the internal or female condom.
Internal condom placement
The first thing you should do is carefully remove the condom from its package and unroll it. Be careful, do not do this if your hands are not clean and do not use your nails, teeth or scissors, as you could break the condom.
Press on the inside of the closed ring and insert it as high as possible into the vagina. You can help yourself with your other hand to open the lips of the vagina and facilitate the process. If you have used tampons or menstrual cups, the way to insert it is very similar. Help yourself with your finger to make sure the condom is properly placed inside the vagina.
Next, you should remove your finger, making sure that the edge of the condom opening has stayed outside the vaginal opening.
As an extra precaution, and when penetration is going to occur, make sure that penetration is occurring inside the condom and not between the condom and the vagina. It is not usual for that to happen, but neither is it impossible.
How to remove it correctly
To remove the internal condom you must push it back slightly, very carefully so that no seminal fluid comes off it and could come into contact with the labia.
Protecting the female condom from pregnancy
Yes, but we must say that male condoms are somewhat more effective, as long as we are talking about properly used condoms. According to studies, 2 women out of 100 become pregnant when they use a male condom, compared to 5 out of 100 when female. It's not much difference, but there is a small percentage of higher risk.
Does the internal condom protect against STDs and STIs?
Absolutely. The internal condom is a type of barrier contraceptive that protects against the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, since it covers the inside of your vagina and some parts of your vulva and anus. Therefore, there is less chance that semen, pre-seminal fluid or skin come into contact with these areas and, therefore, can spread an STD or STI.
Advantages and disadvantages of the female condom
Believe it or not, one of the advantages of the female condom is that it increases sexual pleasure. This is explained because internal condoms allow high protection against STDs and unwanted pregnancies, which makes the person who wears it face sex with greater tranquility and security, without that fear they sometimes have that their male partners are not using the condom.
However, not everyone finds so much pleasure in using female condoms. Between tastes there is nothing written!
Another advantage is that, being able to place the condom before starting the sexual relationship, it will not be a brake at the most inopportune moment (that moment in which we have to stop so that the man of the relationship puts on his condom). We can even suggest that you include the placement of the internal condom as one of the pre-sex games.
Probably the biggest disadvantage of the internal condom is its mode of use. Putting it on properly takes practice, and at first it may not seem entirely straightforward, which could cause some people to "throw in the towel" on its use. However, at Sexvibrators we want to encourage you not to do it, because, as soon as you take practice, its use will be much simpler than it seems at first.
Another disadvantage is that these condoms often make somewhat annoying noises. To avoid them, use a good lubricant and try to put on the condom at least 20 minutes before starting a sexual relationship.
Is the female condom compatible with the use of sex toys?
Yes, if you want to use a sex toy it is perfectly compatible with an internal condom. Just take the same precaution that we pointed out with penetration: that it does not enter between the condom and the vagina, but inside it.
Now, yes, you are ready to enter, and never better said, in the world of the internal condom.
