Update meaning for: Sexual Positions

sexual activities, including various forms of sexual intercourse and other sexual acts between people. Sexual acts are generally described by the positions the participants take in order to perform those acts.
* Missionary – penetrating partner on top with direct penetration; receiving partner on bottom, legs partially open.
* Edge of Bed Missionary – like the standard missionary position, but with the penetrating partner standing and the receiving partner's legs dangling over the edge of a bed or some other platform.
* Blossoming flower missionary – like the missionary position, the receiving partner is on their back, but they also spread their legs, lift their hips and arch their back; the receiving partner is literally and figuratively opening themself up to their lover, and thus allowing for deeper penetration.
* Side entry missionary – variant on the missionary position; receiving partner on side; penetrating partner kneeling penetrates from behind.
* Squashing of the deckchair – receiving partner on bottom, legs pulled up with knees near head; penetrating partner on top, holds partner's legs.
* Peace sign – receiving partner on bottom, legs tightly closed.
* Butterfly position – receiving partner lies on their back, penetrating partner stands and lifts receiving partner's pelvis for penetration
* Coital alignment technique – variant on the missionary position; man enters in missionary position and moves slightly forward so that the base of the penis rubs the clitoris.
* The stopperage– pressing receiving partner's thighs against their chest
* The Yawning Position– receiving partner's legs straight up, wide apart
* Octopus Position– variant on the butterfly, receiving partner rests legs on penetrating partner's shoulders
* Feet-on-his-shoulders– penetrating partner kneeling, receiving partner rests their legs on penetrating partner's shoulders
* Viennese Oyster– receiving partner crosses feet behind head (or at least puts their feet next to their ears), lying on their back. Penetrating partner then holds receiving partner tightly round each instep or ankle with full hand then lies on receiving partner full-length. A variation is to have the receiving partner cross their ankles on their stomach, knees to shoulders, and then penetrating partner lies on receiving partner’s crossed ankles with their full weight
* Doggy style – penetrating partner inserts from behind; receiving partner on all fours, facing down.
* Leapfrog – variant on the Doggy position; the receiving partner's torso is lower; also known as "face down ass up".
* Froggy – variant on leapfrog position; penetrating partner raises their own hips above those of the receiving partner for maximum penetration.
* Upright doggy – variant on the doggy position; receiving partner kneels upright.
* Upright doggy pull-back – variant on upright doggy, but receiving partner's arms are pulled backwards gently at the wrists towards penetrating partner. Also called the "whoa girl" position.
* Spread-eagle – receiving partner lies facing down, legs spread open; penetrating partner on top. Also known as the spider position.
* Spoons position – both partners lying on their same side facing in the same direction; penetrating partner inserts from behind.
* Reverse peace sign – variant of peace sign, receiving partner lies face down, knees held together.
* Inverted Missionary – receiver lies face down on surface with legs spread/closed, and penetrating partner enters receiving partner while she/he lies on stomach (provides good stimulation of the penetrator's testicles, penetrator can reach around and stimulate the clitoris/testicles of the receiver)
* Camel Ride/Camel-Style – Receiving partner lies on his/her side with the uppermost leg forward. The penetrating partner kneels astride the receiver's lowermost leg, thus gaining access to either vagina or anus. Good for pregnancy, or for overweight partners. Experiment, as one side usually gives better alignment than the other for any given pairing.
* The Screw – Receiving partner lies on edge of bed or couch with legs bent to one side, pulled slightly toward chest; penetrating partner stands and penetrates from rear. Very effective for women with orgasm difficulties.
* Cowboy/girl sex position/Amazon position – The penetrating partner lies on his or her back; the receiving partner sits on top of the penetrator facing the penetrator's face. The receiving partner may stimulate the penetrating partner's genitals by reaching behind. Called by the English, "riding St. George."
* Reverse cowboy/girl/Reverse Amazon/Nero – The penetrating partner lies on their back; the receiving partner sits on top of the penetrator facing AWAY from them; the receiving partner may stimulate the penetrating partner's genitals from this position. Another advantage is that the penetrating partner may view the receiving partner's back, which some find to be an erotic stimulus.
* Italian chandelier – variant on the above position; receiving partner on top, arching her back; placing her hands on the ground; penetrating partner on bottom.
* Reverse Cowboy/girl Horizontal – The penetrating partner lies on their back; the receiving partner first sits on top of the penetrator facing away from them then lies down on top of the penetrating partner.
* Asian Cowgirl – The penetrating partner lies on their back; the receiving partner squats (not kneels) on top of the penetrator facing toward them.
* Horizontal reverse – variant on the above position; receiving partner on top, facing down with torso lower; penetrating partner on bottom.
* Full control – If the penetrating partner's waist is sufficiently slim, the receiving partner (while the penetrating partner is fully inserted and their back arched) can bring their knees under their partner's back, thus providing the penetrator support. The penetrating partner in this position is essentially immobile, and the receiver fully controls the intercourse. The intercourse then continues by the receiver's leaning backwards and pushing against the penetrator.
* The Crabwalk – The penetrating partner lies with their upper back on a low table, couch, chair or edge of bed, keeping their feet flat on the floor and back parallel to floor; the receiving partner straddles other partner, also keeping feet on floor. Receiving partner can assume any of four positions: cowgirl; reverse cowgirl; Italian chandelier; or horizontal reverse. Variation—receiving partner can put ankles over penetrating partner’s shoulders.
* Watching the game – variant on the cowgirl position; penetrating partner sits in a chair; receiving partner sits, facing the penetrating partner, feet on floor; also known as the Lap dance.
* Armchair – variant on the watching the game; receiving partner sits in a chair; penetrating partner kneels in front of the receiver.
* Black bee – penetrating partner sits, hands behind on the floor; receiving partner sits on top and leans forward, hands on penetrating partner's shoulders.
* Furniture – receiving partner on the edge of furniture, legs spread; penetrating partner stands. The receiving partner reclines or sits on the edge of the furniture - sofa, counter, bed, etc. and spreads their legs. The penetrating partner stands or kneels, depending on the height of the furniture, supports the receiving partner's legs with their arms, and penetrates them. In this position, the penetrating partner can adjust the angle of penetration to enter from above or below to effect more stimulation. This position provides a good view for the penetrating partner of the penetration occurring.
* Persuading of the debtor – penetrating partner is kneeling; receiving partner on back, ankles on each side of penetrating partner's shoulders.
* Playing of the cello – receiving partner on back, ankles on one of the penetrating partner's shoulders; penetrating partner kneeling enters from back; also known as Playing of the violin.
* Proposal – receiving partner kneels, legs apart; penetrating partner kneels, one knee on ground.

Considering how much people care about sex , it’s not surprising that we’ve constructed elaborate, sometimes even poetic, vocabularies to describe all the things we see, do, and feel between the sheets, as well as en route to getting there.
With all the slang sex terms floating around, it can be hard to keep track of what they all mean. To help you stay up to date, here’s a handy guide of 69 sex terms you might not know (and what they mean).
69 - A sex position that involves two people performing oral sex on each other simultaneously by lying stomach to stomach in opposite directions. One of the “cool” numbers, along with 420.
Anilingus - Commonly referred to as “rimming,” “tossing salad,” or “ a rimjob ,” anilingus is the anal version of cunnilingus with oral sex being performed on the anus. While it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, it’s definitely gained popularity in recent years.
Ass-to-mouth - Likely popularised by porn, ass to mouth (or “A2M”) is a sex move where a guy goes from penetrating an anus directly to receiving oral sex without cleaning his penis off in between.
Bareback - Penetrative sex done without a condom.
Bases - Commonly, first base is kissing/making out, second base involves touching breasts, third base is oral sex, and home plate is penetrative intercourse.
BDSM - Short for bondage, domination, sadism, and masochism, BDSM is a sort of catch-all term for sex that’s described as rough, intense, or kinky. It can sometimes involve leather and whips.
Bear - A term in the gay community for a big and hairy gay man.
Beard - A term for a woman who dates, marries, or is “linked” with a gay man in order to make him seem like he’s in a heterosexual relationship.
Beast with two backs - Sex while facing each other, so that each partner’s back is facing out.
Blue balls - The pain men can experience from extended sexual arousal without completion.
Blumpkin - A blowjob performed on a man sitting on the toilet while he is defecating.
Bukkake - A type of porn genre of Japanese origin where someone (typically a woman) is covered in semen by a group of male participants ejaculating on her, often in a circular formation. It can also be done in an all-woman iteration featuring female ejaculation.
Camel toe - A descriptive term for when a woman’s pants are very tight or ride up so that her pubic mound is visibly defined between her thighs. It’s named for its apparent similarity to a camel’s toe.
Chode - A penis that’s wider than it is long when erect. It can also act as an all-purpose insult, typically used against a man.
CFNM/CMNF - Short for “clothed female, naked male” or “clothed male, naked female,” these are different genres of porn that feature some clothed participants rather than everyone being fully naked. Often, the people wearing clothes make fun of the submissive naked person.
Cock and ball torture - Something you can ask a dominatrix to perform if someone hurting you by torturing your genitals arouses you.
Cock tease - Someone who leads people (typically men) on sexually without having any interest in actually sealing the deal. The term can also be referred to as a “prick tease.”
Cockblock - A person who acts in such a way as to prevent two people from hooking up, or getting a chance to be alone together. It can function as a noun or verb.
Cougar - An older woman who specifically seeks out male sexual partners significantly younger than herself.
Creampie - A porn term for a sex act that involves a man ejaculating into a woman’s vagina, often involving a camera angle to show the semen dripping out afterwards. It can also be used as a verb, denoting the same act.
Cuckold - A man who is cheated on by his wife, often by bigger/stronger men. Often, he will watch and masturbate while being verbally or physically abused by his wife, the other man, or men. It comes from the cuckoo bird, a species where the female often entertains multiple male sexual partners.
Cum shot - A porn term for the moment when a man ejaculates on camera.
Daddy - A sexy man with stereotypically father-like/masculine qualities. He is typically older, physically strong, and financially well-off.
DDLG - Short for “daddy dom/little girl,” DDLG is a dom/sub dynamic that fits into an incest-kink themed subcategory of BDSM where a typically older man and younger woman will engage in sex acts that incorporate elements of a father-daughter relationship.
Daisy chain - A group of people each performing sex acts on the next person, sort of like a chain.
Deepthroating - A form of fellatio where the person performing oral sex attempts to take the entire penis into their mouth, to the point where it moves down their throat. It was popularised by the 1972 porn film “Deep Throat.”
Dental dam - A form of protection to prevent contraction of STIs from cunnilingus. It is typically a thin sheet of latex, sort of like a condom, for a woman’s vulva.
Dirty sanchez - The name for an accumulation of feces on a person’s upper lip when moving directly from ass-to-mouth during sex. It’s in the same vein of other iconically named slang terms such as“Hot Karl,” which is any sex act where one participant’s feces gets on the other’s body; “Rusty Trombone,” giving a person a rimjob and a handjob simultaneously; and “Donkey Punch,” punching a woman in the back of her head while having anal sex.
Dogging - Public sex, often in situations that specifically invite the participation of strangers.
Dopplebanger - Gay slang for a sexual partner who looks just like you. It’s derived from the German word doppelgänger, meaning a “double-goer,” or your exact double.
DTF - Short for “down to f—k,” DTF is an adjective that indicates a person is ready to engage in sex acts with someone else.
Down-low - An adjective and noun originating from the black community, denoting someone who is gay but in the closet and perceived as straight. It can also describe someone who secretly engages in homosexual activity while maintaining a heterosexual appearance.
Erotic asphyxiation - The practice of engaging in strangulation during sex to heighten pleasure, as decreased oxygen flow can lead to a rush-like sensation. It can be achieved by a partner choking you, or alone while masturbating, known as “autoerotic asphyxiation). Strangulation during a sex act can be dangerous and lead to brain injury or even death if performed improperly.
Eskimo sisters - Two women who have slept with the same person.
Facesitting - A sex act during which one participant lies down and the other sits on their face to receive oral pleasure.
Facial - A porn term for a man ejaculating on his partner’s face. It typically occurs at the very end of a scene or movie.
Felching - Sucking semen out of an anus after ejaculation.
Fluffer - An employee on a porn film shoot whose job is to keep the male star’s penis erect between takes.
Frot - From the French verb for rubbing (“frotter”), frot or frottage are terms for sex acts that indicate rubbing against a person or object rather than engaging in any kind of penetration. It often indicates rubbing yourself against your partner in a public place. Similar to dry humping, described as two people rubbing against each other with their clothes still on.
Futanari - Often abbreviated as “futa,” this is a Japanese term for animated porn featuring women with large penises.
Gang bang - Group sex where three or more men engage in sex acts with a single woman, typically with at least two penetrating her at the same time.
Gaydar - The ability to tell whether someone is gay, lesbian, or otherwise queer.
Girlfriend experience - A service offered by high-end escorts and sex workers where clients pay for the experience of a whole relationship, not just sex acts. It became popularised by a movie (and later, TV show) of the same name.
Glory hole - A hole cut in a wall, often in a bathroom or bathroom stall, where a man can insert his penis and have sex acts performed on it anonymously by the person on the other side.
Golden shower - Urinating on someone in a sexual context.
Mile High Club - People who have had sex while on an airplane in mid-air.
MILF - Acronym for “mother I’d like to f—k,” a MILF is typically an attractive woman who has children. It is accompanied by the less popular variants DILF and GMILF/GPILF, and is often used in the porn genre for films featuring older actresses having sex with younger men or women.
Money shot - A porn term for footage of a male actor ejaculating, often on his partner’s body or face. It earned its name from the perception that viewers crave seeing the moment of male orgasm, and without it, the movie would be worth anything.
Netflix and chill - A dating euphemism popularised in 2015 for a night when you invite someone over to “watch Netflix and chill,” when really, your primary motivation is to have sex.
Nookie - A largely outdated slang term for sex. It received a big boost in the public consciousness thanks to Limp Bizkit’s 1999 song “Nookie.”
Pearl necklace - When a man ejaculates on a woman’s neck and upper chest, typically after she has performed oral sex on him while kneeling, the white semen evoking a pearl necklace.
Pegging - A sex act where a man’s anus is penetrated, typically with a dildo or other anus-focused sex toy, by a person without a penis. This can be done manually or by using a strap-on.
Play - BDSM or other queer/kink-oriented sex that includes subcategories such as “bloodplay,” “edgeplay,” and “play party,” a sex party that’s focused on kink or BDSM rather than normative sex acts.
Prince Albert - A piercing where a metal bolt goes through the shaft of a penis, typically coming out the urethral opening on one end, and below the head on the other end.
Queef - A fart-like noise that occurs when air escapes a woman’s vagina.
Quickie - A term to describe a quick sex act that’s just a few minutes in length., It’s often quick because it’s done in public, or due to one or both participants needing to be elsewhere.
Red wings - Blood stains on a person’s face when performing oral sex on someone who’s menstruating.
Safe word - A word used during BDSM sex to indicate that the dominant partner should stop what they’re doing immediately. It replaces the words “no,” “don’t,” and “stop” when people want to engage in sex where a dominant partner ignores a submissive partner’s pleas.
