I've seen every episode about 1000 times so at this point I could recite the whole show verbatim ; it's a classic ok the movies were ok I enjoyed BOTH ( yes even 2 ) but the show was the heart of the series and all 6 seasons I've enjoyed ( 3 and 4 are my personal favorites it's when they hit their zenith) Carrie Samantha Miranda and Charlotte were all excellent in their own way and the show it just hilarious; hits close to home for me and the older I get the more I appreciate it; when I was younger I think some of the humor went right over my head some of it was so subtle ; can't say enough about it ! Season 2 was excellent as well ESP one episode about mr pu**y to this day when that guy eats an Orange in front of all the girls ( not the fig part ) but the first time they meet him Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker ) looks so damn adorable I can't stand it she was quite the sexy one in her day !!!!

I hardly ever watch TV, but I am completely addicted to this show. It is one of the sole reasons I have cable TV. I have the first season on DVD, and everyone I lend it to ends up staying up until 4am so they can keep watching episodes. It's one of those situations where you watch one, and say "Just one more!" and next thing you know, it's dawn again! These characters are completely real, intelligent, beautiful, and human. I can see myself in all of them, and the conversations they have match many that I have with my own friends. These aren't shallow models who have paper lives. They have real problems, real reactions, and it's easy to imagine your own friends going through these situations (if not yourself). There are even times that, when I watch it with my boyfriend, I feel intrigued that he's hearing what they are saying. What they talk about is so *real* and female, it's as if he could be learning some insights into how women actually think when men aren't around. It's definitely been an eye-opener for him. He actually understands me sometimes in certain situations, when before he might not have. A must-own - and when you do get it, be prepared to lend it out a lot :)

My girlfriend cajoled me into watching the first season of this show with her, and I actually liked it! It's an enjoyable, well-written show, but I'm not just reviewing the series here. I'm writing this to review the dvd. Time-wise, the shows are very inconsistent, which baffles me. One show will be 19 minutes long, and the next will be 24 or 25. It just doesn't make any sense. Plus, I can't get over the fact that hour-long shows like 'Buffy' or the 'Law and Order' series have over 20 episodes in a season, and half-hour sitcoms like 'frasier' manage 22, but this particular "half-hour" show can only seem to muster 18. With the seemingly endless possibilities for situations for the great characters that have been created to encounter, you'd think that they could give the audience just a little more. I really enjoy the show. I just with that there was a little more of it.

There aren't many TV shows that hold my attention for very long. Most of them disappoint me! Not so with SITC...From the first moment I saw this program, I was hooked. There was something about Sarah Jessica Parker's character that reminded me soooo much of myself. And her friends, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda all hold similar qualities of my girlfriends. I wouldn't go so far as to talk like some of them, but I definitely think this show is long overdue and tells it like it is. Women deserve their chance to be strong, successful, and non-committed for a chnage. I love everything about this show. Season Two is even better than the first. Mr. Big is probably one of the best characters written in a long time for TV, and the writing itself is a HUGE part of why this show is so amazing. It's hard to really describe why you like something so much, and that's kind of the case with me. Sex in the City is why I own HBO and it's given my boyfriend and me a more open relationship. Everyone can relate to at least one episode or synopsis, and that is why I love SITC, and always will!

This has to be one of my all time favorite television series and I'm so thrilled that the first two seasons are available on DVD. Since the series is on HBO it is able to go over bounds that other shows cannot, it has language, nudity and all that, but you hardly notice based on the incredible talent and writing that goes into the series. When I first saw the series oh so many years ago I couldn't get into it, so I gave it another try and was hooked. I already loved Kim Cattrall from my childhood favorite movie "Mannequin" and Sarah Jessica Parker from another favorite "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." but I've now grown to enjoy Kristin Davis as always hopeful Charlotte and Cnythia Nixon as the equally cynical Miranda. This is a series that shows four completly different women who may have different views on love but share one unique frendship. This show probably isn't for those who are shocked easily, but if you can stand a little, or a lot, of sexual humor and don't, mind the occassional nudity then this is a great show to get hooked on.

I like this show. It was a groudbreaker in the late nineties. Although it is pure fantasy, it did speak openly about the problems women have trying to find men who knew how to give pleasure as well as get pleasure during sex. It is appalling how many men and women don't learn the basics about this very important component of the female/male relationship. It treats the subject from many different angles not as a tragedy, but as a comedy. And some episodes are sooooo funny, you will laugh yourself sick!! It's not a show for the truly puritanical, nor is it a show for soft pornography hounds. It's actually quite practical underneath all the shenanigans.
