A Center for Therapeutic Massage Therapists’ Response to Covid-19
As we reopen our massage practice, here is the information we want our clients to know about how we will operate to minimize and mitigate the risk to both our health and safety as we offer massage therapy in this time of COVID-19. This is an outline of our group agreements on how we will practice.
With all the measures recommended by the state and federal governments, the CDC and our massage professional associations to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, your therapist may make the decision to see clients.
Please note that each therapist is an independent practitioner and not an employee of A Center For Therapeutic Massage.
If you choose to work with your independent therapist, do note that they will be using the safety precautions as recommended by government agencies, both before and after each visit, however the nature of receiving massage means that you are not practicing social distancing, are making close physical contact, are spending an extended amount of time in close contact and are using a facility shared by other clients and therapists.
By agreeing to see my massage therapist, I acknowledge and accept responsibility for my actions. I do not hold my independent therapist or A Center For Therapeutic Massage liable for the results of this choice.

Traveling north on NW 34th Street, we are located ¾ mile north of 39th Ave. in the Ridgeway Village Shopping Center, which is on the right, 1 block before the YMCA. Look for the red sign with arrow pointing toward our office.

I’ve been offering massage therapy in Gainesville since 2012 when I completed massage therapy training at the Florida School of Massage. My training consisted of Swedish massage, Deep Connective Tissue, Reflexology, Polarity Therapy, Neuromuscular Triggerpoint Therapy, Sports massage, along with various Hydrotherapy and Aromatherapy methods.
I enjoy incorporating a combination of bodywork techniques to aide in the body’s healing process. By working with the muscular structure and soft tissues of the body applying fixed or movable pressure, gliding strokes, vibration, rocking, friction, kneading, compression, stretching and traction. I primarily like to use my hands, forearms, and elbows and I include an option of adding heat/ice to specific areas of tension. I can also apply hot stones/warm compresses, including the option of heat on the massage table. A variety of Aromatherapy options are also available in each session at no extra charge.
The most commonly recognized technique and the basis for most other techniques. Uses long gliding strokes, deep kneading, small friction-type motions, light tapping, vibration and joint manipulation to reduce muscle fatigue and induce relaxation.
Deep Connective Tissue Massage aims to affect the various layers of fascia that support and separate all muscle tissue. Long deep strokes assist hyper toned muscles to fully extend and relax, thus allowing the body to return to its own natural alignment.
NMT is an approach to pain intervention using advanced concepts in the art of pressure therapy. Pressure properly applied to myofascial trigger points or “knots” interrupts pain signals to the spinal cord, reduces the intensity of nerve activity in the tissue, and mechanically moves out toxic irritants accumulated at nerve receptor sites.
Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience. The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.

Via is an amazing masseuse! She’s been my go to for myself and my son. She’s an expert for deep pressure massages also, as we’ve had a hard time finding someone who can give the pressure we need. She has an adorable, relaxing space. Go see her, you won’t be disappointed!
