I simply LOVE this book! It is utterly timeless. This is my second copy, as I wanted a hardback copy as well. Natural comfort is the key word all through this book. Use your sense AND senses, and become more conscious of your home and your surroundings. Some of the pictures are the essence of comfort and natural beauty, and I 'must' have a look at them occasionally.. Make some room on your shelf, this is a keeper. (Mind, used ones might already be read to pieces, this my 'no cost' HB sadly was, but please don't let it stop you from getting yours). Both paperback and HB are covered in tactile grey 'velvet'. Their size are about the same.
When this book was first published it was unique. And it has stood the test of time. A feel-good book that lives up to its title with inspiring and informative text by Ilse Crawford, former editor of English Elle Decor, and special photography by Martyn Thompson. This book does not disappoint.
A very fulfilling and soothing read
There are so many beautiful interior design books available. This is NOT one of them.
Not a useful book for decorating your house, in my opinion.
i have many, many home decor books and this one by far and away is my most favorite and has the best philosophy. and the cover is fuzzy and pleasant to handle AND nice to look at.
This book changed my life, it is fantastic!

Philosophy of design for well being. Well written
If you are looking for design pegs, this isn't the book you're looking for. What it is though, is more a manifesto on home design philosophy. Which is exactly what i was looking for. I came here after watching ilse's feature episode on netflix, and much of her philosophy revolves around placing well being and humanity at the center of design. If this philosophy spoke to you on the show, it will definitely warm your heart to read more of her philosophy here.

Good but not worth the market price
The book is completely not what I expected for the price almost 58 pounds and requested a refund from the seller. I was expecting a prime quality edition, like a rich album. Instead this is a thin, small book, with soft cover and a disappointing content - just too much big print on separating pages and not enough robust info. A great thing - directory of suppliers. Overall the book is probably good, but the price raised the expectations, which were not met.
Fab inspiration if y ou love a bit of hygge :)
Basic and nice pictures. Even my husband liked it.
