Your role is to lead the technical advancement of these products, guaranteeing they remain scalable, maintainable, and dependable over time. Working in close partnership with product teams, you will convert strategic requirements into concrete technical architectures and navigate complex obstacles while upholding rigorous quality benchmarks. The decisions you make will determine the product's trajectory and affect the learning experiences of thousands of students.

What You Will Be Doing
* Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
* Requirement Engineering: Partnering with product stakeholders to clarify requirements and spearheading technical conversations to ensure features support product objectives.
* Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product reliability, optimizing system performance, and preemptively detecting and addressing potential issues.
* Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly affect user satisfaction and product scalability.
What You Won’t Be Doing
* Jumping between temporary assignments or pursuing the latest technology fads.
* Contributing to internal IT infrastructure or contract work that lacks meaningful user impact.
* Spending excessive time in unproductive meetings or managing monotonous infrastructure tasks.
Basic Requirements
Senior Software Engineer key responsibilities
* At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
* At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
* At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
* Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
