Are you a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with deep experience building payment platforms, escrow systems or financial transaction infrastructure, looking to join an ambitious AI-native startup developing the future operating system for UK property maintenance? Do you want the opportunity to take ownership of an entire payments domain, designing and delivering mission-critical billing, escrow and payment systems where correctness, auditability, security and scalability are non-negotiable?

In this role, the successful Senior FinTech Full-Stack Engineer will take ownership of the company's payment, escrow and billing platform. You will design payment orchestration flows, build Stripe Connect and Unipaas integrations, develop subscription billing and metering systems, implement financial controls and reconciliation tooling and ensure all payment operations are secure, auditable and resilient. Working within a small autonomous engineering squad, you will have significant influence over architecture, standards and long-term platform strategy.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building production-grade payment systems using TypeScript/Node.js, alongside a proven track record delivering financial transaction platforms where reliability and correctness are paramount. Experience with Stripe Connect, escrow architectures, payment orchestration, idempotency controls and financial compliance requirements is essential.
The Role:
• Design and develop production-grade payment, escrow and billing systems
• Build and maintain Stripe Connect, Unipaas and payment gateway integrations
• Implement payment orchestration, pre-authorisation, capture and payout workflows
• Develop subscription billing, metering and financial reconciliation tooling
• Design idempotent transaction processing and webhook architectures
• Ensure security, auditability and regulatory compliance across financial systems
• Work within a small autonomous engineering squad
The Person:
• Strong commercial experience with TypeScript/Node.js full-stack development
• Extensive Stripe Connect and marketplace payment integration experience
• Proven background building payment, escrow, billing or FinTech platforms
• Strong understanding of idempotency, transaction integrity and financial system design
