Senior Backend Developer

I'm searching for the EU-based professional, specializing in Backend Development(Senior level) of IT-platforms. Movinx is a venture insurtech startup backed by Mercedes-Benz and SwissRedigital offering flexible and fully digital insurance solutions for automotive companies and mobility providers.

✔ Senior Backend Engineer MAIN TASKS imply:

• Work within a multi-cultural, cross-functional team who are inspired by productive research that addresses genuine problems for real people.
• Develop our API-first app for the mobility insurance space addressing multiple international markets. You’ll integrate and abstract provider APIs into a highly scalable and continuously evolving platform.
• Develop your skills by working on the following software:

Java, Kotlin, or Node. JS/TypeScript on the backend.

• Running in Docker on AWS (ECS/EKS). Act as a sparring partner for other developers in your team (Pair-/MOB-programming, Graceful Code-Reviews).
• Bring our product vision to life: contributing ideas in feature discovery, planning the development details, and delivering thin feature slices quickly into production.
• You will shape our tech stack and engineering culture since it is owned by the teams.
• And last but not least, you will impact our portfolio, brand and culture.

✔ What is expected from You:

• You pay attention to emerging technologies that will benefit our new product and suggest methods to apply them.
• You have owned the build of a complex service-based application designed for high usage capacity.
• You have a testing mindset (TDD) and an eye for clean code. Let us know about your experience with TDD-, BDD-Framework.
• You are an expert in OO-languages with recent knowledge of the service-oriented frameworks (i.e. Nest.JS, Spring Boot), microservice architectures and enthusiasm to learn more.
• Experience building an API-first app with security, scale, and versioning considerations.
• Basic experience with DevOps-tools like terraform or build pipelines (gitlab/github/circleci).
• A strong sense of long-term ownership in your work and you have a strong passion for engineering.
• Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
