Gags can potentially be dangerous when combined in a selfbondage scenario
You should try to avoid ball gags since if you need to vomit at any point during the session your airway is blocked completely which can be deadly
If you aren't comfortable wearing a gag outside a bondage scenario for extended periods of time you definately should not attempt it tied up
If your still dead set on using a ball gag and no amount of persuasion will stop you at least make sure that you are able to release yourself instantly from the bondage scenario and you have practiced taking off the gag
Rope bondage can be difficult. If you get it wrong you risk cutting off blood flow to certain areas of the body or making an in-escapable selfbondage scenario, which in theory sounds fun but in reality is terrifying
There are many alternatives to rope that are equally kinky and likely safer such as bondage tape, handcuffs and belt buckles
If you need to use rope for a scenario make sure you know how to tie a proper single column knot first as an absolute bare minimum.
This will teach you some basic concepts about how to tie a safe knot including giving your hands/feet some slack and not letting the knot tighen so much it restricts bloodflow. Similarly for the same reason you should avoid pressure points
(areas where nerves and veins run close to the skin surface)
Rope is tough and difficult to get out of. Make sure you have a good quality pair of Tuff Cutt Shears within reach and a backup pair just in case these break, you can never be too careful
Don't use any type of lock which releases after a set amount of time or requires a key without another escape option available.
This includes time locks, ice locks and ordinary padlocks. If a lock breaks, you loose the key or get stuck in a dangerous time sensitive situation you are essentially screwed unless you can call an emergency contact or alert others of your prescence
Even on the best of days something can go very wrong. A basic albeit rare example is if a fire alarm goes off and you are called too immediately leave the building. For this reason always consider how long it will take to escape from a self bondage scenario and what mental and physical state you will be in when
you leave
Never, ever tie anything around your neck or across the front of your neck or in a way which can tighten or pull on the neck. You're risking your own life if you attempt this.
Refrain from using nipple clamps continuously for more than 15 minutes as it can restrict blood circulation. If you want to be a true masochist you can take them off for a period of time and then put them back on if you want.
The risk here is "continuous" usage.
✋ Hands
Handcuffs are a valid option as long as they come with a quick-release mechanism, as a general rule of thumb most will. Keep in mind though that handcuffs have a tendency to cinch-up so they can restrict bloodflow to your upper arms and hands
A safer option is to go with a pair of Non-Locking Wrist Cuffs that have a long chain connecting them. As a general rule if you can put the Cuffs on yourself you should be able to take them off at the end. There are a few exceptions to this rule such as if you attach something like a Cinch Noose to the Wrist Cuffs which will allow them to tighten further so still stay vigalent
It is possible to use tape to tie both your hands together by simply using the weight of the roll and spinning it around both wrists. This is tricky to do properly and can be tricky to get out of so you will still need a pair of scissors nearby

You have a lot more freedom here and can really use any type of restraint you want, locking or non-locking. The same warnings still apply however such as making sure you can get out quickly enough in an emergency and avoiding pressure points
👤 Head and Neck
This is a difficult question to answer and can only be considered on a case-by-case basis. As stated before you should try to avoid the neck but wearing something like a Collar attached very loosely to a piece of furniture may be fine depending on the scenario. Similarly wearing a Blindfold and Gag may be appropriate as long as your hands are not tied. You can see where there is a fine line between something dangerous and something that is relatively safe.
Hogties remain one of the most restrictive ties you can do, your left completely helpless and it can be tricky to get out with your hands behind your back.
The main things to consider are, is it possible the restraints could restrict blood flow and do I have multiple methods to escape. For this reason avoid handcuffs around the hands and only use rope if you know what your doing

Tie the Ankle Cuffs to your legs and attach the Carabiner
Tie your hands into the cuffs and link them behind your back. Make sure you can open the Trigger Hooks and escape
Clip the Ankle Cuffs to the wrist cuffs behind your back using the Carabiner

Wear a piece of fetish gear such as a Catsuit (avoid the hood)
Use an Ice Lock or Magnet Lock instead of the carabiner, you still have other options to escape

Chair ties are very simple, so simple that you probably already know how to do one. There are multiple different positions you can stay in and it really just depends on what you like.
My favourite method involves tying my legs to the back legs of the chair using ankle cuffs and then tieing my hands behind the chair using wrist cuffs or if i'm feeling brave a
reliable ice lock
Safety
Since your sitting upright and tied to a fixed object (not just yourself) which moves about a lot it makes things a bit safer than placing yourself in say a hogtie.
This dosen't mean it is without risks, infact some of these risks are specific to this predicament
The Chair - Make sure you use a chair which is going to be strong enough to support your weight and wont collapse if you tug on it. Don't move the chair in any way from it's original postion or rock it unless you want to fall face first onto the carpet
Hands tied behind your back - This can restrict bloodflow to your hands, if you want to avoid this you can simply tie your hands to each leg seperately
Ideas
Attach a vibrating toy either to your genitals or to the chair itself, for example a Hitch Vibrator.
Wear a Ring Gag and drool away or if your able to quickly release yourself use Nipple Clamps for up to 15 minutes
Tie your chest and thighs using Bondage Tape to restrict movement even more. Make sure you have scissors nearby
A spreadeagle position involves spreading your legs and hands apart and tieing them down typically to form a kind of X shape with your body. The easiest version of the spreadeagle position is one in which you're lying down
in a bed horizontally but if you have the kit you can do this on a sofa, standing up etc... The same principles apply.
When tieing yourself, unlike the Hogtie/Chair ties in which you have a limited amount of movement available to free yourself, you will find that there is absolutely no chance you will get out if the release mechanism dosen't work, for e.g. a padlock or if you forget to think of backup options.
Luckily if you do it right then it's a relatively risk free tie and you can enjoy this very compromising position for yourself.

Alternatively an under the bed restraint system will also work. If you want a strict self bondage scenario when you can only exit after a certain amount of time you can use a set of ice locks / mag locks you have tested. This is pretty expensive but means if one lock fails the other
can be provided as a backup so you can still escape properly.
Instructions
Tie your ankles in a spread position to the end of the beds frame. If your using rope make sure to use a single column tie which will not tighten and restrict blood flow
Tie one of your wrists to the other end of the bed frame to start to form the X shape using either the wrist cuffs or rope using a single column braided cuff (look it up)
Tie your other wrist. This is your escape method so the safest approach is to use use a wrist cuff which you can release and latch it up or alternatively use a timed lock here such as an ice lock. Make sure you don't tie this too tight and have a bit of wiggle room
Escaping
Release the trigger hooks on the wrist cuffs then release your other hand and 2 feet. If your using rope have a set of scissors / knives attached to the bed which you can easily access so you can release yourself quickly in an emergency
If you use a timed release method then wait until either timer runs out and release your legs in the same manor
Self bondage can be dangerous. If you don't know what your doing it can result in serious injury or death if you don't take the proper precautions. Some of the risks may
not be immediately as obvious compared to other kinky ventures. This page is a quick summary of some of the risks associated with selfbondage but is by no means a complete guide.

that if something goes wrong you can alert other people of your predicament. For example a person living alone who has locked there door, not arranged for a friend or partner to come round and has only setup a system to alert there mates via text after a certain length of time is at much higher risk than
a person who lives in a shared flat, has un-locked there door, called a friend around and has set a loud timer to go off after a certain length of time to alert there housemates.
