Developer Supergiant Games' 2020 roguelike Hades is getting a sequel. It's a bold move that raises the stakes and offers a deeper look at familial politics.
Melinoe is back on an attempt to take down Chronos, the titan of time. On her way, she will encounter new gods, like the personifications of the light Apollo and the goddess of witchcraft Hecate, along with the god of revenge Nemesis.
1. Hades 2 Technical Test
It's worth taking part in a technical test if you are an avid player of Supergiant and their roguelike 2020 Hades. The studio has announced it's Early Access launch will be soon, and a playtest with a smaller audience than the full 1.0 version will help them iron any bugs out.

Aside from its stunning visuals, Hades 2 introduces a number of new and interesting characters and features that will enhance the experience and test players in ways they've did not anticipate. Apart from the new gods and shades that make up the Underworld, there's a whole variety of items to collect and enhance through Incantations, which are a system of constant upgrades found throughout each run. Melinoe is able to craft new spells and improve her Nocturnal Armor as well as Nocturnal Weapons. Melinoe can also gather items from the Crossroads Camp for future runs and unlock weapons, boons and other tools.
Another welcome addition is the opening up of more open regions that offer different routes to explore each region and a constantly changing setting to explore. Each region is an intriguing approach to the Underworld, with some more accessible than others but all providing unique challenges that stand out against the usual offerings of other roguelites.
Supergiant also altered the gameplay a bit in the early access version, reducing some of the grinding required to reach certain upgrades, and making it easier to move from one area to the next. Hades 2 is still far from being complete, but Supergiant has stated that it will continue to refine the game and improve it to perfection.
Supergiant is known for listening to its customers and responding to any issues that pop up, and that's evident in the way it's handled the early access release of Hades 2. It may be a while before the full version is released however, it's already worthy of a spot on your gaming shelf along with its predecessor.
3. Hades 2 Beta
Hades was a roguelike like any other when it was released in the year 2018. The game was awarded multiple awards and is considered to be one of the best games ever made. With its rich narrative that is rooted in Greek mythology, stories of familial struggles, and LGBTQ+ representation that feels organic and inclusive, it was not surprising that it resonated with so many people. So when Supergiant Games announced that a sequel was in the works, it was no surprise that fans were ecstatic.
Seven years after its first release, Hades 2 has finally entered early access. Although it hasn't been changed much mechanically, Supergiant's love for and dedication to Hades 2 are evident from the beginning.
According to the Steam page for Hades 2, "the game brings back all the elements that made it so special in the original game: the isometric view, clearing rooms, selecting boons and launching powerful attacks as well as the Hub World that has a a host fully voice-acted character to speak with and learn from, as well as the ever-changing Underworld."
In addition to these reintroduced features, the test introduces new ones as well. For instance, the ability to unlock permanent upgrades for Melinoe and a new weapon, and a range of other options that will aid you in surviving the hordes of the Underworld. 4. Hades 2 Release Date
After a successful testing the roguelike dungeon crawler Hades 2 has launched into early access on PC. Supergiant Games' sequel follows Melinoe's journey to save her father and take down Chronos. Hades 2 promises all the amazing mechanics of its award-winning predecessor, with a re-imagined story rooted in Greek mythology, and the beginning of witchcraft.
Anyone who wants to get their hands on the game can do so on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Anyone who purchases the early access version will get access to the future versions of the game. The full release of Hades 2 is scheduled for the latter half of 2024.

The trailer for Hades 2 features the Underworld Princess, Melinoe, fighting the cool witch Hecate. While the character isn't a direct remake of Zagreus, Supergiant says that Melinoe will still possess a similar style and personality. The character is also based on an existing character from Greek mythology that the studio adapted to fit the story of Hades 2.
