πΉ We're hiring: Secretary-General β European Governance Lab
The European Governance Lab is looking for its next Secretary-General to lead our next phase of growth.
About EGL
Since 2019, EGL has been making EU governance and international affairs education accessible to everyone. Today we serve 2,500+ learners across 40+ countries β with expert-led courses, research publications, and career resources for students and professionals entering the EU ecosystem.
We have built the platform and the community. Now we are looking for someone to drive what comes next.
The role
This is a part-time, fixed-term engagement of 6 to 12 months, with the initial term ending in December 2026 β structured as a self-employed arrangement alongside a main job, studies, or freelance activity.
Ideal for recent graduates and young professionals looking for a real leadership mandate without giving up their main schedule. You set your own hours, work from wherever you are, and report on results β not time spent.
You will work directly with the co-founders and be rewarded for what you actually deliver.
What you will do:
β Lead EGL's development effort against agreed growth and sales objectives
β Build and convert partnerships with universities, institutions, employers, and sponsors
β Drive the growth of EGL's membership and course offering
β Identify new opportunities to expand reach, visibility, and revenue
β Represent EGL within the Brussels and wider European policy and education community
What we offer:
β A genuine leadership mandate β real ownership, not a coordinator role
β Monthly stipend of up to β¬1,000
β Performance-based commission linked to partnerships and sales you generate
β Milestone-based equity opportunity tied to EGL's growth objectives
β Fully remote β you organise your own schedule, from wherever you are
Who we are looking for:
β Recent graduate or young professional with an interest in EU affairs, education, or policy
β Someone who knows the EU institutions and the Brussels ecosystem
β Strong communicator with initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset
β Experience or interest in partnerships, outreach, business development, or growth
β Able to work on a self-employed basis (student-entrepreneur, freelance, or equivalent)
β Fluent in English; additional EU languages are an asset
Ambition and drive to deliver matter more than years of experience.
