The first time I saw *Scream 7*, I was both excited and nervous. After six movies, the franchise had built up a reputation for clever twists and meta-horror brilliance. But this time, something felt… off. The opening scene, where a masked killer stalks a group of teens in a high school, was familiar, but the execution felt lazy. The dialogue was clichéd, the jump scares were predictable, and the characters were one-dimensional—just there to be killed off.

The real letdown came when the film tried to be too clever. Instead of building tension, it relied on cheap gags and forced callbacks to past films. The twist ending, while technically shocking, didn’t feel earned. It was like the writers had given up on making the audience think and just wanted to shock them. The final act, where the killer was revealed to be a long-lost relative, was a tired trope that had been done better in previous films.

The action sequences were well-choreographed, and the performances were solid. The humor was sharp, and the nostalgia factor was strong.
