Scrapp for Chrome: Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Scrapp browser extension for Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (the "Extension"). The Extension saves images from web pages to your own collection on scrapp.me (the "Service"). Use of the Service is also governed by the Terms at https://scrapp.me/terms.
What the Extension handles and why
The Extension does nothing until you right-click an image and choose "Save to Scrapp". It then handles only the data needed to save that image to your account.
The image you chose. When you save, the original file is sent to your Scrapp account on scrapp.me. If the original can't be downloaded, a cropped screenshot of the image is sent instead.Image details. When you save, the image's alt/title text, the address (URL) of the page it came from and any tags you type are sent to your Scrapp account on scrapp.me and stored with the image.
Your Scrapp sign-in token. It is obtained when you sign in with Google on scrapp.me. It is stored only in the Extension's local storage on your device and is sent only to scrapp.me to authorize your requests.
Your account details. Your name, email and daily quota are read from your Scrapp account when you open the Extension's popup or save an image. They are cached on your device to show in the popup.
Recently used tags. They are stored on your device to suggest tags when you save.
To download the original image, the Extension requests it from the website that hosts it, the same way your browser does when it shows the page. Your browser's cookies for that website may be included, as they would be for the page itself. If a website needs it, the Extension also sends that page's address as the referrer, for that single request only.
What the Extension does not do
It does not collect your browsing history, and it does not read page text, forms or passwords.
It does not track clicks or keystrokes.
It contains no analytics, advertising or third-party trackers.
It sends data only to scrapp.me, and only when you save an image. It does not sell or share your data with anyone.
It does not use your data for any purpose other than saving images to your collection.
Storage and deletion
On your device: the sign-in token, cached account details and recent tags stay on your device. "Sign out" in the Extension's popup deletes the token and cached account. Removing the Extension deletes everything it stored.
On scrapp.me: saved images, their descriptions, source page addresses and tags are stored in your Scrapp account until you delete them on scrapp.me. To delete your account and all its data, write to hi@scrapp.me.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address or at the scrapp.me/privacy with a new date.
