Ishbel Maria Hamilton-Gordon, Marchioness of Aberdeen and Temair, GBE (née Isabel Maria Marjoribanks; 15 March 1857 - 18 April 1939) [a] was a British writer, philanthropist, and an advocate of women's interests. As the wife of John Hamilton-Gordon, 1st Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair, she was viceregal consort of Canada from 1893 to 1898 and of Ireland from 1906 to 1915.
She married the 7th Earl of Aberdeen, John Campbell Hamilton-Gordon, who later became the 1st Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair. When in Scotland, Ishbel lived with her family at Haddo House, Aberdeenshire Lady Ishbel had four children and the role model she provided for them was that of a lady of influence, principles and determination.

Scottish Hurricane One unique thing about Scotland is that it isn't prone to the common natural disasters. You'll see the occasional flooding, but volcanoes, earthquakes, tornados, forest fires, and hurricanes are largely absent. Even lightning and thunder storms are a rarity.
