Science is “God”

Science is “God”

Amanda Tedesco

Today I simply want to write a brief article regarding science and the division between solid proof and “inner knowing.”

A little background on myself, I have in BA in Psychology with a Masters in Statistics. I work in tech and have been an expert programmer for over a decade and currently the Sr Manager in R&D Reporting & Analytics within our data science team.

I was born with a very confusing blessing of  having two strong/dominant brains, both right and the left. Always pulling me in two different directions. Having such strong intuition with an extremely analytical (sometimes overthinking) mind really ate me up inside growing up. Feeling something to be true, or even off, but not having solid proof or evidence can drive anyone a bit nutty. Your analytic mind will auto kick in, searching for the answers, looping and looping until it can make sense of this unknown knowledge that’s been downloaded into your being. Making it hard to trust yourself and becoming extremely frustrated with your decisions with constant second guessing. Always wondering…is it you? Are you overthinking? Why can’t I let this go?

Well, learning how to let go is exactly what blended my two brains together and built the confidence I needed in my life. Creating much more balance across all aspects of my world. If something didn’t feel right, I let it be and kept my distance. I did not need to search for the answers or understand why. I just trusted myself and accepted it was okay to never know the answer or get the closure I wanted. The more I practiced this method, the more the answers would naturally come to me overtime. Sometimes the universe just requires you to have faith and patience, to which you’ll eventually be rewarded.

From a scientific standpoint, the more I dissected the world, the more patterns and symmetry made sense. It’s amazing how atoms are perfectly formed to create the elements we need in this world, including our own bodies. How the four fundamental forces of nature keep everything in balance and rotation: gravity, electromagnetic force, the weak force and the strong force. With duality everywhere. For any matter particle, there’s an antimatter particle. There’s day and night, hot and cold, male and female, etc.

Even when I can see the science behind every beautiful experience in nature, it doesn’t pull me away from God or higher power. I wish this feeling was more common in today’s society. However, I do think it’s becoming more accepted.

The Bible states “God created mankind in his image”. Well, that must mean we are creators too. Which we are! Not just in creating life and growing families, but look at the doctors, researchers and scientists of the world. I believe God wants us to create, not just life, but new ways to observe, connect and improve the world around us.

Do you think inventions and new transformational technology came straight from the human brain? Yes and no. I think our ideas/hints are guided by outside sources we can’t understand. And we’re gifted these wonderful insights. God (or a higher power), WANTS us to learn. To understand the world and universe, what makes it tick. I don’t think his intent is to ever use this knowledge and intelligence to disconnect us from our own intuition and guidance, which we’re all inherited with.

Listen, if we humans can understand how to dissect the world, the universe and the human body, don’t you think the original creator would as well? He’s trying to show us his original blueprints and road map, so we can continue to live in his image. To me, I think it’s a beautiful thought and has brought so much more clarity in my profession, life and inner trust.

There’s an amazing quote from a song I hold dearly to my heart. It states “The Universe was made just to be seen by my eyes”. How profound is that? Because what would a Universe be without an observer? We are special and meant to SEE the world. Understand it. Ask all the big questions. We were given these thoughts for a reason. And how lucky are we that we get the chance to do just that?
