Protests have been held in east London over the student's treatment

The governing body of an east London school where a black pupil was strip-searched has publicly apologised for the incident.
A safeguarding report found the search of the 15-year-old girl, known as Child Q, was unjustified and racism was "likely" to have been a factor.
In a statement the governing board said the school "was not aware that a strip-search was taking place".
Child Q is suing the Met Police and the school in Hackney over the incident.
The governing body said: "The incident involving Child Q is harrowing, and we understand and share the sadness and anger that is being felt by the community.
"While the school was not aware that a strip search was taking place, we wholly accept that the child should not have been left in the situation that she was.
"For this, we have offered a full and formal apology to Child Q and her family, and continue to work with them to provide what support we can."
Lawyers acting on behalf of Child Q have asked for the school not to be named in the media.
Labour MP Florence Eshalomi: "When my daughter is 15, I hope this issue still isn't happening but I'm worried it will"
During the incident, the girl was taken out of an exam to the school's medical room and strip-searched by two female Met police officers who were looking for cannabis, while teachers remained outside.
No other adult was present, her parents were not contacted, and no drugs were found.
The girl's intimate body parts were exposed and she was made to take off her sanitary towel, according to the review.
Scotland Yard has admitted the actions of the two officers were "regrettable" and it "should never have happened".
On Monday, policing minister Kit Malthouse said the government was taking the matter "extremely seriously" .
In the statement, the school's governing board said "changes were made immediately after the incident, and continued to be made".
Since the incident, the school has changed the leadership of its governing board. However, research by the BBC shows the chair of governors was still in place six months after the search occurred.
The make-up of the board has also changed. The governing board said it would not comment on the employment status of anyone involved.
The Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) said a report on the incident is being "finalised".
The incident has sparked days of protest across Hackney, near the site of Child Q's school.

Protests have been held in east London over the student's treatment

The head teacher of an east London school where a black pupil was strip-searched has stood down due to health issues.
A safeguarding report found the search of the 15-year-old girl, known as Child Q, was unjustified and racism was "likely" to have been a factor.
Child Q is suing the Met Police and the school in Hackney over the incident.
In a letter to parents, the school said "an outstanding head teacher" is already in place to take over the role.
During the incident, the girl was taken out of an exam to the school's medical room and strip-searched by two female Met Police officers who were looking for cannabis, while teachers remained outside.
No other adult was present, her parents were not contacted, and no drugs were found.

The school's governing body has claimed teachers were "not aware that a strip search was taking place".
In March, the school released an apology to Child Q and her family.
Since the incident, the school has changed the leadership of its governing board. However, research by the BBC shows the chair of governors was still in place six months after the search occurred.
The make-up of the school board has also changed.

13-year-old Sophia’s grandparents are currently in Ukraine amid the Russian invasion. The schoolgirl amazed viewers as she bravely spoke out about the conflict on BBC Breakfast and hosts Dan Walker and Sally Nugent, along with many viewers, praised Sophia for her comments.
Sophia shared her thoughts on the conflict in Ukraine and the response around the world.
She began: “I want to thank all the countries that have been helping out Ukraine with all this here and I want to thank for all the sanctions.
“But, more needs to be done because this certainly shouldn’t be happening in the 21st Century.
“It’s just… why are people hiding in bomb shelters? Children are being born in bomb shelters.
"People's homes are being destroyed. Hospitals are being destroyed, schools.
“It’s just… why? The world needs to stop this because if Russia carries on fighting, if Ukraine puts down arms, then there will be no Ukraine.
“Possibly, Russia isn’t going to stop there. They might carry on. So, the war might be knocking at our doors soon.
“But, if Russia puts down their arms then the war will end. More needs to be done until we get to that point,” Sophia explained.
“I have to say you’ve spoken brilliantly there and you’re only 13-years-old,” BBC reporter Jayne McCubbin said, before handing back to the presenters in the studio.
Sally commented: “Thank you very much indeed. I think one of our most eloquent guests so far this morning there, aged 13.”
“Amazing, yes. Incredible answer,” Dan added in agreement with his colleagues.
However, it wasn’t just the BBC Breakfast team who commended Sophia for her words.
Upon hearing the schoolgirl's comments, several viewers flocked to Twitter to praise her for speaking out.
“My mind was just blown by a 13 year old @BBCBreakfast speaking so eloquently about the war in Ukraine. 13 years old and she summed it up perfectly, her mum must be so proud of her #BBCBreakfast," @NataliePonders wrote.
“BBC Breakfast just did a great job showing the human side of what's happening in Ukraine. Amazing 13 year old talking sense... more so than a few adults I've seen on the news. #BBCBreakfast,” @Grinch_Fingers commented.
“Striking to hear a 13 year old school girl in Liverpool talk about the injustice and terror of war this morning - 'The war might be knocking on our door soon’. #BBCBreakfast," @HarshaPatel_ added.
@whynotgoglobal posted: “A 13 year old girl in Liverpool named Sofiya Chymera whose grandparents are under attack in #Sumy spoke more eloquently than any politician about the horror being inflicted on #Ukraine this morning. Thank you to @BBCBreakfast for giving her a voice. #BBCBreakfast.”
Some viewers confessed the interview with Sophia left them feeling emotional about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
“That eloquent 13 year old girl on BBC breakfast news just now - I’m a grown man and she had me in tears. #BBCBreakfast #Ukraine,” @essex_dad said.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
