Scam, Fraud, and Dropping cases

ITMOLNIA

🤖 Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in cases where scammers reach out to our students on social media, pretending to be ITMO University staff. They may ask you to sign documents, share an SMS code, or perform other suspicious actions.

We’d like to remind you that any important and confidential information concerning a student is always sent from the university’s official email addresses under the domains @itmo.ru and @niuitmo.ru. So if you receive messages in messengers from a profile posing as an ITMO employee, threatening you, asking you to sign documents, or sending strange requests — block and report that profile immediately!

🔍 If you’re unsure about the authenticity of an profile, you can look up the person in the “Personalities” section on my.itmo.ru. ITMO staff and students often list links to their other socials there. You can also contact Student Services Office or your faculty, where they can confirm whether the profile belongs to a real lecturer or staff member.

💻 If you've become a victim of fraud, please write immediately to so@itmo.ru — we’ll do our best to assist you.
