Lived with Gregg Allman from 1989-1991. He broke off the relationship when she developed a heavy drug habit. She suffered a miscarriage during this relationship and never had children before her tragic death at 23.
Had a lengthy romance with comedian/actor Pauly Shore .
Her stage name came from her favorite movie, Savannah Smiles (1982). She often became angry with anyone who addressed her as Shannon.
A stunning natural blond, she is considered one of the most beautiful women to have ever appeared in adult films.
Two years after her death, her mother tried to sue Gregg Allman on the grounds that he led her daughter into the porn business. On the advice of her lawyer, she eventually dropped the suit.
At the time of her death she had just started production on a film called Pure Lust which was never completed. The only images from the film that exist were published in a 1992 obituary in GQ magazine.
Like most celebrities who die at a young age, Savannah has become more famous in death than she was in life. In the years following her death, demand for her films tripled.
Purchased the gun that killed her three weeks before her suicide. She told friends that she bought it because a stalker had tried to break into her home.
She was a heavy drug user, and during most of her career she was addicted to heroin. Her last boyfriend, Pauly Shore , told her that if she would give up heroin he would marry her. At the time of her death she had stopped using that drug but was still using cocaine.

As her fame grew, she developed a reputation for being difficult to work with. She would show up late or not at all or show up under the influence. In 1992 Vivid Video fired her because her delays and absences were costing the company too much money.

Savannah started out performing in amateur hardcore fare under her real name of Natalie Heck in her native England. She subsequently went on to work in more professional adult movies for such major companies as Hustler, Brazzers, Diabolic, Reality Kings, Evil Angel, New Sensations, Digital Sin, and Red Light District. In July 2010, a man named Shoduil Islam tried to kill her at her London residence. The assailant tried to strangle her, resulting in a deep wound in her throat. Help came thanks to the neighbors, who, alarmed by the screams, called the police. The girl was found in a pool of blood, naked, on the floor of the house and immediately transported to the hospital. The man, after confessing to entering Heck's house with the sole intention of carrying out a robbery, was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
Gold also worked as an escort in London, England and had an exclusive contract with Bluebird. She had several tattoos and piercings in both her navel and clitoris. Savannah was nominated for an AVN Award for Best Group Sex Scene in 2009. Gold died from a brain aneurysm at the tragically young age of 26 on October 17, 2011 in her native Yorkshire.
