The Seth Rogen vehicle is rude, crude and one you definitely don’t want to take your kids or younger relatives to see. With an R-rating in the US and 15 certificate in the UK, this is all set up to be the most extreme animated movie since South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
In a plot that’s essentially Toy Story with swearing food, Rogen voices a hot dog called Frank with a thing for Kristen Wiig’s bun.
“A hotdog slides into a bun, turns face down and thrusts…”
They’re paired up inside a fictional supermarket where all food follows a strange religion that positions people as Gods who pick out the chosen ones to be taken to the great beyond – unfortunately this spells certain doom in an oven, blender or worse.
Parental advisory website Kids in Mind has run the rule over Sausage Party and declared it very much unsuitable for children.
Scoring nine for sex and nudity, six for violence and gore, and 10 for profanity, it’s graphic content is definitely going to see the film hit headlines when it arrives in UK cinemas on September 2.

“Four items make an anal-vaginal-oral daisy chain, all thrusting wildly as a taco sucks violently on a hotdog; a hotdog slides into a bun, turns face down and thrusts; and close-ups show the faces of food items having orgasms (moaning, screaming, and their eyes rolling back in their heads).”
“A used condom in an alley speaks to a hotdog, who rushes away. In an apartment, a toilet paper roll is bent, telling the hotdog that a man did something to it (masturbation is implied).”
“A bagel and a flatbread tell each other they will perform oral sex on each other. A bun argues with a hotdog and says she would rather have a parsnip, a pickle, or an eggplant in her and the hotdog says eggplant is too big for her.”
“At least 126 F-words and its derivatives, 35 sexual references, 40 scatological terms, 18 anatomical terms, 10 mild obscenities, name-calling (crazy, cray-cray, nutcases, bunch of fruits, stupid, idiots, morons, dumb Brit, disgusting, pathetic, monsters), exclamations (gee, shut your mouths), 3 religious profanities (GD), 23 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh My God, Oh God, Holy [scatological term deleted], Holy [F-word deleted], My God, Please God, The Will Of The Gods, For God’s Sake, Jesus Christ, two hymns to ‘the gods,’ a sign that reads ‘God hates figs’, several mentions of ‘the gods’).”
“A hotdog pulls a string of pearls out of the bottom of a bun. A bun sits back and her eyes look dreamy with her lower half below the frame with her legs and shoes sticking up and spread apart, into the frame, but we cannot see her lower half.”
