to a mac pro. the sata side did not plug into the sata female on my mother board, so i clipped the right plastic peg (right side with the teeth facing up) in order for it to fit. once i did that, it worked like a charm.
Does the job of converting a Sata power connector to allow another molex connector to plug into a hard drive, disc drive or any other power need. Seems fairly sturdily made with no loose parts, or wires in the wrong location. I recommend checking to see that the wires are connected in the same order as your other molex connectors, as some have reported reversals in items received.
I had purchased a PCIe USB 3.0 card for my lab server at work. That card need external power fed directly from the power supply, but in the form of a 4Pin connector. My lab server only had a 15 Pin SATA connection to plug into a SATA drive available. What to do? Purchase the Micro SATA Cables' 15 Pin SATA to 4 Pin Female Power Cable. This cable, along with a 12 inch extension cable, worked perfectly to power the USB 3.0 card. I would recommend this cable to anyone who needed to convert from a 15 Pin SATA female connection to a 4 Pin female power connection.
If anyone has the need to convert a SATA MALE CONNECTOR to LP4 MOLEX FEMALE CONNECTION, in an older model computer, then this item is an absolute 'Must Have' to get the job done without any rewiring hassel. I was hooking in the SATA supplied power cord to an older model MOLEX drive and, THANKS to this little adapter, it worked perfectly. I didn't personally use these as I ordered the wrong ones. I gave them to a friend and I am not sure what he did with them. I was impressed with the weight of the cables, however. It seems that everything is getting cheaper these days and the cable on this item was nice and solid.
I bought this cable because I bought a new computer (Dell XPS 8300 in case you did too) and wanted to add USB3.0 pci-e card. The pci-e card required power and had the old LP4 Molex connection. but the new computer only had spare SATA connections from the power supply. This cable worked perfectly to make that connection and was just the right length. As previous reviewer stated, this is just what you need if you are looking to convert a SATA MALE CONNECTOR to LP4 MOLEX FEMALE CONNECTION. Price was very cheap and item delivered pretty quickly.
MY PSU when dead last week, when bough a new one, it has less 4 pin cable despite I am buying more power watts than the 4 years old one. I check around, and Amazon has the best deal in stateside, Ebay might had cheaper but gonna take weeks to shiped and is hard to return if something is wrong. Is nice Amazon carry this and is cheaper than Frys instore cost like $5+ tax. This cable i use for connect to the tower case fan.
I bought this cable along with the Molex extension cable for my early 2009 Mac Pro that I wanted to add a USB 3.0 card too. The USB 3.0 card needed extra power for it to properly function so I used this cable and attached it to the spare SATA cable where an additional DVD drive would go and channeled it through the case and plugged it in. This little fix gave my older Mac Pro a lot more life and expandability for some new technology.

I just built a new computer with five internal SATA drives in a full sized case. The new power supply I installed in it has SATA power cables that are (in my opinion) poorly spaced and stick straight out from the back of the drives. This configuration left me with one unusable power connector, which I needed, and power cables sticking out so far that I could not close my case. I purchase these extensions and they solved both of my problems. I am very pleased. The only minor issue I had with these cables is that the small plastic cover that says "SATA" on the back of the drive connectors falls off. Just remove them: it does not affect function.
I purchased this cable as one of the reviews said he needed it for his hard disk when replacing the original power supply with the 250 Watt Flex ATX poser supply. Another reviewer had cut the original SAT hard disk cable and soldered it to the replacement cable. I also didn't want to wait to see if I needed it. I didn't need it as the daisy chained power supply SATA cable fit ok to the DVD and hard disk. This cable connects on the SATA upward. One reviewer said he was able to take the hood off to accommodate a downward facing position. I'll put it with my spare parts.
I needed this after my mothers DVD-ROM failed in her computer. I had a spare DVD-ROM on the shelf, but it was a SATA not the IDE she had been using. I ordered up this bad boy on my Prime account. 2 days later my Mom is burning again. Plus is that it has locking connectors. Negatives are only if you try to use it in a large case and it does not reach.
I finally finished assembling my computer that was using a dell power supply, and when I went to plug in the final dvd drive, the power cable came up three inches too short. Had this overnighted for $3.99 and had the computer done the next day. I'd recommend that any computer builder keeps a spare one of these on hand because you never know when you might need one.
It arrived quickly, and was needed with the Diablotek FLY case which I had also purchased, which doesn't give much clearance for the cables. The right angle power connector saved the day!
FYI: This SATA power extension has molded plastic ends (instead of the clipped-on type) and the wires are 20 AWG instead of the usual 18 AWG found on power cables of this type.

Well made great adapters for putting cards in machines that don't have PCIE power connectors. i used this to power a gtx 1080 in an old ThinkCentre pc and it's working great now. got the PC for free and now i can play AAA games on it until i can afford to upgrade the PSU.
It was super easy to use and a very versatile tool. You needed power for my graphics card but my old power supply didn’t have an extra power cable for the graphics card so I used this to convert once of the extra memory slot to the power cable for my graphics card.

I have a Geforce GTX 1660 SUPER in my desktop PC but did not have any 8-pin PCI-E power cables to use with it so I bought this. It worked great for about a month and then this morning is fried itself and is now charred on a couple of the connectors. Needless to say, no workie anymore. Luckily I had my old video card still that doesn't require external power so I'm not dead
