Sasha Banks Teases Fans With WWE NXT Throwback Photos

On May 16, Sasha Banks , along with her tag team partner, Naomi, walked out of WWE following a creative dispute with Vince McMahon that ultimately led to the duo being suspended and stripped of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship . While it remains unclear whether Banks' relationship with the company is still strained following McMahon's retirement, nothing has stopped The Boss from reflecting on some past achievements with the organization on social media — adding fuel to the fire of rumors of her imminent return.
Yesterday, on the seven-year anniversary of the first NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, Banks posted a carousel of images on her personal Instagram profile from her "NXT" Women's Championship clash with Bayley that took place that night. Captioning the post, Banks wrote, "[Bear] witness to my evolution. Happy anniversary to the greatest feeling." The post itself drew a plethora of comments, including from former WWE superstar Lio Rush, who commented, "What a moment."
Bayley defeated Banks that night to win the gold, bringing the curtain down on their feud. Following the encounter, Banks celebrated with Bayley in the ring alongside Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. The match would eventually be voted "Match of the Year" at the "NXT" Year-End Awards that year.
Banks and Bayley went one-on-one again at "NXT": TakeOver Respect almost two months later in the first 30-minute "Iron Woman" match for the "NXT" Women's Championship. Bayley would once again come out the victor, while Banks moved to the main roster alongside Flair and Lynch. After stepping up from "NXT," Banks went on to win the "Raw" Women's Championship five times and the "SmackDown" Women's Championship once, as well as becoming one of WWE's most recognizable stars.

DWTS pro Sasha Farber is enjoying his time with his male castmates. While Dancing With The Stars fans are waiting patiently for Season 31 cast news, Sasha and several of the other men are relaxing and hanging out together.
However, the timing of Sasha’s posts is a bit uncanny. Some fans can’t help but wonder if the “boys’ day out” Sasha posted about was actually work-related. Check out the photos for more.
Sasha Farber has been really active in the off-season and even choreographed routines for So You Think You Can Dance . It definitely makes sense that he would want to return to DWTS . The exec team doesn’t typically let dancers know whether or not they’re coming back until a few weeks before the season premiere. The Season 31 premiere date is on September 19, so it seems like execs might have cast the pro dancers already.
It’s not uncommon for Dancing With The Stars pros to go out for drinks and meals together. But the 38-year-old dancer revealed online that he and a few of his castmates were at a pool party together.
The dancer posted beautiful photos to his Instagram story , revealing a stunning blue pool with the city off in the distance. And of course, Sasha wasn’t alone. He posted a photo of his “boys,” castmates Gleb Savchenko and Artem Chigvintsev.
Could the pool party actually be a work-related event?
If it’s not a Dancing With The Stars event, it could also be a bachelor party for Artem. Leaked information revealed that Artem’s wedding to Total Bellas star Nikki Bella was scheduled for September 4, 2022. Gleb, Artem, and Sasha are all notoriously close. It’s possible that Artem asked his castmates to be groomsmen.

Fans that follow Sasha Farber on Instagram notice he has been relatively quiet about his wife Emma Slater lately. Several DWTS fans believe that Sasha and Emma actually quietly split up and are cordial to each other for the sake of work.
The two are both pretty active on Instagram, but they haven’t posted about each other in months. The last time was in May when Emma made a very generic “Happy birthday” post for Sasha.
Working with a spouse can be incredibly challenging. But in previous interviews, Emma said that they managed to find a pretty happy balance . It’s possible that the situation wasn’t quite as happy as the couple made them out to be.

Sasha Banks made a notable change to her Twitter profile and that has led a number of fans and sources to jump to conclusions about her WWE status.
Social media is buzzing that Sasha Banks may have teased that her status with WWE has cleared up thanks to an update to her Twitter bio. It's certainly not a given that she's done with the company, but that she changed her handle could indicate that she's moving on, at least that's the assumption many fans are making today.
You can see below that Banks has officially changed her Twitter handle to @MercedesVarnado. This is her real name and what she'll likely go by when working on future projects such as her acting and aspiring music career. What's caught a lot of attention is that it used to be @SashaBanksWWE. Clearly, a number of fans have jumped to the conclusion that this means she's done as an active performer and that she won't be making a return to the company.
Reports about Banks' status with WWE have varied in the last few weeks to months. Some outlets, including WrestlingNews.co reported last month that there was an agreement for Banks and Naomi to return to WWE. That was later shot down by Fightful who reported that the deal had not been signed. Other sources like Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Banks and Naomi were expected back soon, although it wasn't confirmed if a new deal was signed or how things might have been worked out.
Some are arguing this is one of the first moves by Banks that point the arrows in one direction, that being that she might be moving on.
Again, if Banks simply wants to go by Mercedes Varnado, she could be making changes to her social media profiles for other projects. If she does return to WWE, she may still go by Sasha Banks and this wouldn't be the first time a wrestler had a stage name and a social media profile name.
One thing to keep in mind is that she still has WWE listed in her bio. Underneath her new handle is written: "Sasha Banks-WWE Koska Reeves - The Mandalorian She remembered who she was and the game changed."
