TV STAR Sarah Greene has found love with the close friend of her late husband Mike Smith.
The former Going Live! presenter was left devastated when Mike passed away from complications after heart surgery in 2014.
Now following his death, Sarah is in a relationship with former touring car champion Robb Gravett and credits her late spouse for bringing them together.
She told the My Time Capsule podcast: “I sort of know Mike is pulling so many strings in my life.
"He has undoubtedly been responsible for me meeting my beloved who was one of his oldest friends, who waited a certain amount of time but did keep leaving messages on the answering machine.
"Then I got a message almost saying ‘for God’s sake, Greeno, Robb is trying to make contact with you because he actually wants to take you out, not because he’s kind.
'So will you just get off your a*** and go and answer the phone next time it rings!’
"And lo and behold, a whole new conversation started. I’m sure, and Robb is very sure too, because it’s a very strange situation."
The 64-year-old star was "terribly worried" about the idea of bringing a new partner back to her former marital home because it was filled with so many reminders of her late husband, who she had married in 1989.
She added: “I remember being terribly worried and saying to this dear man who I’d known for all these years ‘isn’t it strange coming into the house and seeing all these pictures everywhere of Mike?’
"He said ‘No, no, it’s not strange. It’d be strange if they weren’t there. And remember, I love him too.'"
Mike and Robb headed up the Trakstar team that won the British Touring Car Championship in 1990.
Sarah and Robb are involved in land transportation firm Z Charge, which was set up last year, according to Companies House.
Sarah is most famous for her presenting roles on Blue Peter and Going Live! back in the late 80s and early 90s.
In 1988, she was involved in a helicopter crash alongside her soon-to-be husband Mike, but luckily they both survived despite serious injury.
Sarah and Mike remained together until his death in 2014 due to complications following heart surgery.
Mike started in hospital radio before joining the BBC in 1975. In 1983 he took over Radio 1’s lunchtime slot, then the Breakfast Show in 1986.
The late presenter was a regular on Top of the Pops and BBC's Breakfast Time as well as The Late, Late Breakfast Show, hosted by Noel Edmonds.
He also hosted That's Showbusiness, Julian Clarey's Trick Or Treat and most notably the BBC's Live Aid broadcast in 1985.
