I was never aware of this stores existence until I had to visit for a family members needs. While price is very convenient compared to other competitors, I really felt uncomfortable with the whole experience. Not located in an ideal spot in Santa Rosa mixed with 'meh' customer service and an odd interior of the store really did not have me running back for anything else. I leave that decision up to you, while the drugs purchased seemed to work, just not sure of quality. Middle of the road review for sure. Where to start. Me and my family went to Dollar drug from the Safeway Pharmacy , We have been going to Dollar Drug ever since, and have had great service until this year. Suddenly they wont accept my wife's insurance because 'They are not making any money off it' and forced us to pay hundreds of dollars in cash for a covered medication, which I believe is illegal. This month they suddenly and unannounced decided to limit the quantity of my wife's medication, and abruptly refused to fill it, leaving my wife with no relief, and no alternatives. When I went in just after this to pick up my own medication, I could see the pharmacist in the back looking at me oddly. It made my visit uncomfortable. My wife got a new prescription which fit their new guidelines and they promptly refused to fill it saying'You should know why'. Well she did not know why. It is dangerous and I believe illegal to force this on someone. My wife has a condition that cannot be controlled without this medication, and is now detoxing from it, and I fear for her health. At this point, Dollar drug has lost her business, My business, my Sons business, My father in laws business, and every person I know will be hearing this. Dont get me wrong here, the cashiers are ALWAYS nice, I have no quarrel with them and wish them well, but the policies that the management and pharmacists are implmenting are hurting thier customers, and thier business. You want to make money? Stop hurting your customers. Just look at their other reviews, most are horrible. I was shocked when I looked at their reviews, but, understand why after my families recent experience. Not to be trusted for continuity of care at all. Before today I would have given Dollar Drug 5 stars. But today I was notified that they were no longer accepting my prescription insurance because they don't make any money from it. I was actually told their costs were not covered! After being diagnosed with MS 9 years ago, I had to go on permanent disability and I have just finished treatment for breast cancer. Now I have to find a new pharmacy because Dollar Drug doesn't make any money off of my medical conditions. Just goes to prove that even when you try and support local businesses, all any of them care about is money. They have no regard for the patient. Good riddance Dollar Drug. You're no better than Walgreens or CVS. I've been going to Dollar drug for over 20 years. It is the best kept secret in Santa Rosa. The people are knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. I couldn't imagine anybody writing a bad report for these people at Dollar drug. They must've asked for some thing that was unacceptable or illegal I never have to wait and if I do it's 10 minutes tops. I have never encountered anyone that was rude. First of all, like all businesses these days they are short staffed, this did not keep Linda in the pharmacy for giving me excellent customer care. She was so helpful, and kind. I greatly appreciate her assistance in my purchase. She represents Dollar Drug with great integrity! At CVS it's getting bad with customer service, errors and saying they will let me know when they will refill an Rx They hire rude, young girls and nothing happens to their attitudes after you complain, but they are still there. I have quite a few meds and errors are unacceptable. So I was hoping Dollar Drug would be great as it's really close to home, but alas, seems I should keep looking. Really disappointed. I did go there once for a covid booster, and was treated somewhat rudely. I am retired from a year practice of medicine. Dollar Drug cares less for its customers than any pharmacy I have ever encountered and they are really cold about it. The best advice I can give to anyone who does business with these people or is thinking about doing business with them is to find a different pharmacy or risk the consequences.
