Sannvika where can I buy cocaine
The agent engaged in espionage is known as a secret agent. Anything secret has an air of mystery about it and becomes something of vast interest and curiosity. I briefly compare this web series with the other two espionage web series. I am aware that Special Ops was released a few months back, and hence this blog should have come out earlier, yet I am attempting it so that amongst my readers who will read this blog, those who have seen the series can offer their views and those who have not can decide whether to see it or not. While Kay Kay and Manoj play serving officers, Emraan is an erstwhile officer brought back due to his skills and specialized knowledge. Therefore specialization is a key aspect and attribute of secret agents. This has been highlighted in more aspects than one in all three series. He was a successful producer as well with Rustom. The movie Aiyaary starring Manoj Bajpayee had not done well and Special Ops is a good comeback by him and a good debut as well since it is his 1st web series. In fact, Neeraj Pandey joining the web-series bandwagon is indicative that the format is here to stay. Similar to Manoj Bajpayee in The Family Man , Kay Kay also plays the role of an intelligence sleuth who is also a husband and a father. However Special Ops seems to have learned from the mistakes of the earlier serial. In The Family Man, we saw the inconceivable and unimaginable happening- an Intelligence expert leaving a terrorist handover that too a suspected ISIS terrorist to attend a school meeting. Here at least it is closer to reality. Kay Kay too is worried about his daughter — and to some, it may seem his concern is extreme, but it is portrayed well. He also, while keeping professional secrets from his wife, which is expected, shares his overall vision and career goal with her which is expected as well in reality- even from intelligence experts. Of course, he does take care to ensure that the need-to-know principle is followed as far as possible and specific information is certainly never revealed. The storyline is simple. For the last 19 years, he is on the trail of a dreaded terror mastermind, named Ikhlaq Khan. A cinematic license has been used by Neeraj Pandey who has attributed the six most horrific attacks in India to the same mastermind. Himmat has set up sleeper cells in 5 different countries and has spent a huge sum of money from his secret fund for which he is under financial scrutiny by his own department. The nature of the job being such, he prefers to maintain their secrecy, rather than reveal their names and positions, even at the risk of being doubted for embezzlement. Kay Kay and Karan shine in this series. The role of Ikhlaq is played by Iranian actor, Sajjad Delafrooz and he turns in a spine-chilling performance as the main villain. Special Ops manages to maintain the interest throughout the 8 episodes and has various twists and turns, and ultimately leading to a thrilling climax. Does Himmat get Ikhlaq? Will his team be able to fulfill his dreams, rather his year obsession? Watch Special Ops to know these answers. Update; Special Ops Season 1 was a big success and hence a Season 2 was always on the cards. The wait is over. Season 2, named as Special Ops 1. Happy watching, and for those who have not watched season 1 yet, do so, in this intervening period. The movie is very different and very promising but it is also a bit confusing as there are some inherent contradictions in it, which are however minor. Overall I liked it. The widely travelled and varied experienced Jonathon Augustin, born in Mumbai, and educated in Bournemouth is both the director and producer. Jonathon has been assistant director in several commercials, and also worked in brand-building of various global brands. This is his debut movie. In real life, Nyla is a multi-faceted personality. She is an actor, a costume designer, a family person and also runs an institute for street kids in Andheri called Dhai Akshar. She had debuted with Stanley ka Dabba in Moin and Nyla practised so much that they actually reached a point that they they did not have to open the script and go scene by scene. Moin says that some scenes they may have practised times. Awesome commitment indeed, by both. Coming to the storyline, it is about a lift-man Krishna who does the same duty for thirty years, with the hope that his son Raju does not have to follow his footsteps. Raju, an engineering student is however just not able to clear one particular paper and has failed as many as four times. His father has a heart attack and is advised rest for at least a fortnight and he asks Raju to fill in for him. Initially Raju rebels, but soon starts liking the job, so much so that his father gets worried that he may end up as a lift-boy and then a lift-man like him. Apart from teaching him the basics of the subject, she also ensures that he studies and becomes regular in his preparation. She also teaches him values. A kind of holy teacher-student bonding develops between them. Will Raju pass on merit? Interestingly, Raju also gets an opportunity to cheat and pass. Will he take this easier way out, especially as his friend has said that he has spoken to his companies HR to get him a job? However , this being clearly unethical will he trust his preparation? The movie also deals with all these values. The Lift Boy is all about values and relationships, which have been shown very well. The movie has resisted the temptation of deviating into other extraneous aspects. It is a movie about positivity as well and social upliftment since a lift-man dreams of his son escaping poverty and taking them too from a slum to a flat. The Lift Boy is also about friendship. The movie is also about loyalty and different aspects of this admirable trait have been discussed. A lift goes up and down and it has been used very well as a metaphor for life which has its ups and downs, but still has a destination. There are certain inherent confusions in the movie. It has dealt with stereotypes such as Indian parents thinking about only two career options for their children- doctor or engineer and here too the lift-man forces his son to take up engineering when he wanted to take up Arts and be a writer. There is a hint that he fails repeatedly as he does not like the subject. It is also not very clear as to how suddenly he starts liking the Lift Boy job when he is very clear that as a near-Engineer it is below his level. Finally, the ending of the movie is a bit rushed as if suddenly the director was told that there is a time limit and he has no option but to wrap it up. Overall, the movie is well made and is a welcome movie about middle class values and about relationships. Good movie by Jonathon Augustin. Well done. Looking forward to your next project. Pics credit; The film companion. Content credit; Various information available on public medium in internet. In recent times I do not remember any movie which has got such bad reviews as Penalty has. It has been called a terrible football film with no sense of craft or politics and it has been termed culturally awry as well. The movie was streamed by Netflix a few days back. It was mostly panned by the critics. I however mostly disagree with the reviews. I liked the movie and I found it realistic and truthful. Penalty is written and directed by Shubham Singh. Penalty stars Lukram Smil as a young Manipuri student who comes to Lucknow to carve out a future for himself as a professional football player. He wants to play for India and realizes that with Lucknow being the football powerhouse and a Lucknow based University, SRMU being University champions 18 years in a row, his best chances of playing football at higher level is by first playing for SRMU. However, Lukram faces racial profiling and discrimination. Shashank tries to do justice to talent through proper selection but is not allowed to. Kay Kay even sells him guilt by hinting that non-selection of deserving players had resulted in his selection as well and seeks to continue ruthless implementation of his insider-outsider theory with him as successor. The travails of Lukram are many. He also survives an organized and planned physical attack which could potentially have given him career-ending and life threatening injuries. Lukram even thinks about giving everything up and returns to Manipur but decides to come back and pursue his dream. Lukram and Ishwar are great friends. Midway he feels that he has been betrayed but later he realizes that the Sardar has a heart of gold. He has done it effortlessly. I also liked the concept of crowd-funding being shown in a dignified manner. The underprivileged do have less opportunities, but if required , unknown strangers will rise to the occasion and bail them out. Well done, Mr Director for touching upon this aspect. It was also a nice touch to have a Sardar stand up against discrimination and racial profiling, since they too face it, which however has not been shown in this movie. Penalty could have improved in some areas. The football scenes should have been better since it is a football movie. Overall, Penalty is a good movie about football, about prejudices, and with excellent acting by Manjot Singh, Shashank Arora and of course the evergreen Kay Kay Menon. He already has had major successes including the movie Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan and the web-series Panchayat. He does a fine job here as well. This trend started a couple of years back but is no more a novelty, as it was earlier and the theme itself was looked forward to, both for the newness as well the nostalgic feeling. Possibly recognizing this, the makers of Chaman Bahaar decided to go in for a short movie instead of going in for a web-series. Jitendra Kumar shines. His role is that of a young man named Prem Kumar Yadav who is employed as a forest guard with the DFO District Forest Officer , a job the males in his family have done since generations. Within the 1st five minutes of the movie, an encounter with a bear leads Prem to resign and take up the ownership of a Paan shop, the name of which is Chaman Bahaar. This is soon realised by Prem, who spends his time alone in his shop, without any customers, since the location is not appropriate. However soon the situation changes and this is because the local engineer shifts there with his family which includes a beautiful teenage girl, Rinku. With the increasing rush and business, Prem gets money to improve his shop, pay off his debts and even gifts his father chicken and scotch whisky. However after some time, a problem arises. He too falls for Rinku, a role played by Ritika Badiani. Now the entire town is in love with her, for they have never seen a beautiful girl wearing shorts, what they call half-pant. She also rides a scooty and that too fast, and walks a dog. The parallels are clear, power, wealth and position. Others reconcile to placing bets on which of the three will get her. Where the movie does well is replicating the small town experience in an authentic manner. All who have stayed in villages or even small or mid size towns will recollect the carrom clubs and the gatherings in front of and beside the local paan shop. So also the speculation as to who would be the boyfriend of a pretty girl, even though almost all would not have the guts to even say a Hi or hello. What is well brought also and adds local flavour is the way the young boys address each other as daddy and call Shila bhaiya the powerful politician and Ashu Bhaiya the rich kid the biggest daddies amongst them. Where the film does not do well is objectifying the girl. Everyone sees her as an object. She too has not been given any role at all, except for dressing up nicely and walking the dog or riding her scooty. Interestingly, in the entire movie she does not speak a single word. The movie also shows even her school teacher as falling for her, which was probably not needed at all and seems a bit unpleasant and unnecessary. This may actually be realistic though and many officers in civil services , banks and private sector companies actually do this, by staying alone in the hinterland and keeping their family in the state capitals. However, is this growth? Is this integration? It is not, which is ok, in the quest to depict reality, but it is not shown in a positive way. It shows a sense of resignation and failure in a way. In fact, the film actually seems to be anti-women. The girl does not seem to object to what is quite open if not eve-teasing, leering after her. Shila Bhaiya follows her in a jeep with his goons, and actually tells his henchman who is driving the jeep to make her feel sure that she is followed. The objective behind this is not stated. It may have been meant to be funny, but it seems creepy. Similarly, when a cop beats up Prem for shaming her, the mother of the girl seems to be apologetic about it, saying that he did so as he was a family friend, and his posting earlier too was in the same district where they were posted. Will any Mom behave like this? Will any Mom be sorry and apologetic at the eve-teaser of her teen daughter being roughed up by the cops. It is also disturbing to see grown men chasing a school-girl, though the attempt is to show reality. Where the film scores is the acting of Jitendra Kumar. He is outstanding and his acting is subtle and realistic. Mannerism, body language, thought process, how a certain person would present himself. He has done superbly in the movie, and his acting itself is enough reason to see the movie. The side male actors too have done well. The movie is the debut direction of Apurva Dhar Badgaiyan. Is there a hidden message in the cop roughing up the paanwala, as Bhadauria is a Rajput who beats up an Yadav. We do not know. The movie however is average and one is happy that it got delayed and was not the debut of Jitendra as it was meant to be. Oherwise who knows, if it had not done well, we may not have seen him in the lovable web-series Panchayat read my separate blog on Panchayat. Hopefully we will see a lot of Jitendra Kumar in the future. Handled skilfully, he could be a future Amol Palekar. Phishing is the fraudulent practice of sending e-mails or making phone calls to individuals inducing them to reveal sensitive information such as passwords and credit card numbers. It is quite a menace and its nice that a web-series was released regarding this practice. The web-series Jamtara-Sabka number Ayega referred to as Jamtara from now on was released on 10th January, on Netflix. It was released without any publicity, which was possibly an experiment by the entertainment giant, a kind of testing the waters. The series has been directed by software engineer turned director Soumendra Padhi. Jamtara also had an interesting innovation- it has no established actors except for Amit Sial who plays the main villain. Here he plays a ruthless mafia don turned politician Brajesh Bhaan, who has a tight control on all activities in his constituency and stronghold. The constituency in question is Jamtara, a sleepy district in Jharkhand, km far from Ranchi which was the last home of giant social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar he must be wondering what went wrong. Director Soumendra based his research of over two years on an actual phishing scam that originated from Jamtara, which had a population of less than but had 40 mobile shops, and boys who had not even gone up to class 5 conning tech-savvy metro persons. Interestingly, the Jamtara scam was engineered by juvenile boys, below 18, and not educated, as stated earlier. They used to ring up random numbers and somehow, with different convincing requests manage to get the CVV number of the debit card. Dolly Sahu is an IPS officer in second year of field posting who is determined to see that Brajesh Bhaan is arrested for his misdeeds. Interestingly, at least twice in the web-series , she says that she qualified the IAS. That is probably because for most unaware and certainly in a small town like Jamtara the exam is IAS exam and candidates clearing work in various departments including IPS. For this role, Aksha worked very hard. An interesting memory she shared in an interview was that in a particular scene she is supposed to be sharing a cigarette with the cyber-crime officer she has asked to help her out. Being a non-smoker, she kept on coughing and the Director said that he can cut out the scene. The mafia-don seeks to get SP Dolly Sahu too into his payroll but she does not budge, and slowly but surely starts winning over the respect of her staff, including Inspector Biswa. Sunny is a young boy who is a mastermind of the phishing racket. He and several other boys perform and master these phishing techniques and he is the best amongst them. The series then explores how Sunny is the only boy who does not agree and he sets off on his own phishing racket. Now, who is Gudiya? She is a class 12 pass girl who has knowledge of spoken English. Realising a goldmine potential, Sunny offers her several lakhs of money to marry her so that she too can help him in phishing. Gudiya agrees, as she also needs money to fulfil her dream of going abroad. This marriage starts off a trend in Jamtara, with several juvenile boys marrying older women who are good in speaking English. It also emphasizes the brilliance of the Sunny who recognizes that a lady, that too someone who speaks good English will be better for phishing as the targetted person especially if male is more likely to believe a girl over the telephone and get duped. He is the pioneer who starts the trend. A bit more about Amit. His role is terrific in its villainy. Interestingly he was uncomfortable as he says he in real life was not the person he has portrayed in Jamtara, but he was happy he was playing a character who displays unprecedented heights the human heart can be capable of. Watch Jamtara since sabka number ayega. Sooner or later you will be the target of a phishing attempt. Seeing this web-series may provide not just entertainment but education about phishing and how easily one can be conned. The awareness may be of help. Jaideep immediately agreed but as he had to go for shooting of Bard of Blood, he could not make it for the function. We however continued to remain in touch and are in touch now too. Jaideep has a terrific sense of humour. I remember congratulating him for Bard of Blood and asking him if a Season 2 is there and he is in it or not. I told him that as he had done well, I am envisaging that there may be some flashback scenes for him. Now we know what it is and it indeed is very interesting. Paatal Lok has been released on Amazon Prime and Jaideep has won accolades for playing the lead role of Hathi Ram Chaudhary, a failed cop who gets the best case of his career. Can he solve the case? Will he be allowed to solve it? Is he competent enough? All these queries are answered in the 9 episodes of season 1. Jaideep is from Haryana and so is Hathi Ram Chaudhary. That could be a helpful reason for his amazing portrayal but it is clear that lot of hard work is behind the performance, including getting the diction right. Jaideep had himself called it a great responsibility to be given the main role and it is clear he discharged it well. He had to gain 15 kilos to play this role of a cynical cop who at the beginning of the series itself tells his junior colleague Ansari that there are three types of people, Swarg Lok the rich , Dharti Lok the middle class and Paatal Lok the poor. What is the reason for this popularity. To me it is because content is king and viewers look for more reality and less of make-believe. The serial itself and also the character played by Jaideep portrays reality. He is not just a cop but a father and a husband, and that too, one with failings. He does not have time for his son and wife Gul Panag due to work, and hence he is distanced from them , and yet the work is not fulfilling or successful enough for them to earn their respect and love. However towards the end, he redeems himself and his wife expresses both love and respect for him. So does his son, when Hathi Ram single handedly beats up the goons intimidating the schoolboy. This is one of the best scenes in all the 9 episodes of Season 1. A brief description about the other main characters. Swastika Mukherjee plays the role of his dog-lover wife, Dolly Mehra. Abhishek Bannerjee plays Hathoda Tyagi, a dreaded assassin who has committed as many as 45 murders, but inexplicably hesitates to kill Sanjeev Mehra. The series itself is about why there was the conspiracy to try and kill Sanjeev Mehra. Was he the real victim? Hathi Ram Chodhary tries to solve the case and he very well realises that it is the most important case of his career. However as he says, half of his life went in his father not respecting him and he does not want the other half to go with his son not respecting him. Along the way, he asks himself the uncomfortable question, was he given the case as he was considered too incompetent to solve it? To know the answer to all the above queries, watch the series. It is certainly engrossing and very tight and realistic. The theme of deep rooted political conspiracy, power struggle, corruption, world of live TV and fake news as well has been realistically portrayed. The cinematography is superb and the scenes etc in Chitrakoot especially have been beautifully shot. Paatal Lok deserves to be seen, apart from other reasons of course, for Jaideep Ahlawat alone, who has put in a stunning performance. The web-series has streaks of realism throughout which one can relate to. Overall, this realism is a strong point. What can we expect in season 2? Possibly bigger roles for Gwala Gujjar and Bajpayee and continuation of their political rivalry. The possibilities are manifold and I am sure the creative team will come up with something new and interesting. Looking forward to seeing him in it and also Season 2 of Paatal Lok. There are three seasons so far and I understand that a 4th season has already been approved by Prime video. Chandan Kumar is the writer and Deepak Kumar Mishra the director. In the web-series Panchayat, it is just the opposite. Jitendra plays the role of Abhishek Tripathi, an Engineering graduate who does not get the job of his choice. While his friends get jobs in metros with salary of a Lakh a month and more, Abhishek has to take the job of a Panchayat Secretary at a remote village of Uttar Pradesh named Phulera. The series is amusing and the genre is comedy-drama. Abhishek is told that due to reservation, the Pradhan seat was for ladies, and Dubey ji brilliantly circumvented the situation by getting his wife to become the Pradhan, while he himself would do the actual work. In villages all this is ok. Speaking about her chemistry with Raghubir, she said they always have affection for each other. In Panchayat too, they complement each other so well. Here is a picture of the duo from shared by fans in an article in Hindustan Times. Neena Ji, to me is sadly a bit under-utilised in this series. However whenever she comes, her performance as a quirky matriarchal homemaker is simply superb. There is another which is about who will do the flag hoisting on Republic Day and one more where she has to take decision as a leader when there is a possibility of violence and bloodshed. There are just 8 episodes each in the three seasons of this cute web-series. Themes are simple. Abhishek experiences how superstition spreads in a village and in another episode comes to know how small things like an executive office chair can symbolize power equations in the village. Problems of electricity in a village are highlighted in another episode. Loneliness takes the toll of Abhishek in one episode leading to an unfortunate theft, while in another episode the theme is how simple village folks can pick up fights on trivial issues. In season 2 and 3 there are episodes on simple topics like alcoholism, efforts to stop open defecation, distribution of housing for the poor, deplorable condition of village roads, and so on. Village unity and village politics plays a major role in the three seasons as well. What is commendable and well handled is that there was a danger of the series becoming repetitive but that has been deftly handled by the director. Episodes being minutes also makes for east viewing. Overall, the story-lines are basic and uncomplicated and narrated in an easy manner, with terrific acting by all. So does Durgesh Kumar as Bhushan , a rival for political power in the village. Unfortunately he does not and crashes out in the written itself. He is told by his friend that he has to stay on in the village and prepare again and it is better if he stays to start loving the village. Abhishek is initially doubtful that he can be in love with the village. She is a pretty girl and he seems to like her, and she also seems to like him. There are hints of an impending romance in both season 2 and 3 as well, but nothing seems concrete. Maybe in season 4 there will be more progress on this count. He also starts liking Pradhan, Deputy Pradhan, and Vikas and they become a sort of family to each other. Season 3 ends on a cliff hanger and once again Abhishek is at the crossroads as to whether he will continue as the village secretary or take up some other assignment. To someone who has watched the rise and demise of the art cinema movement in India in the hands of tasteless violent current commercial movies, the Panchayat series is like watching Malgudi Days in DD. Unbelievable in many ways. Superb control of the story, plots are perfect jigsaws, characters are so real and dialogues? Each one can launch a thousand memes! My favourite — Khaini khaige kya? With the ending we have seen of season 3, one feels that it may be a bit dark. Let us see. Looking forward to season 4. In January , Sony Entertainment television had brought out 26 episodes of a television series Rishta. While it apparently was successful there was only one season of the series. The same television series has now been picked up by Netflix. Curious, i saw an episode, thinking i will continue if i like it. I did, so much so that I am watching the entire series and like it so much that I am recommending it for all my friends as well as a series one can watch with family. Shruti, who has been seen in many films like Fanaa, Slumdog Millionaire, Rajneeti and Tara rum pum is also a popular model and tv star, having been seen among others in Comedy Circus, Shararat and more. She does a nice job as a systematic, organised and committed managing partner while Kavi Shastri who has been seen in many movies and tv serials as well plays a flamboyant casanova type character, who hides his emotions behind an air of nonchalence. Other television series by the banner include Mahi Way , Powder and Seven. In my view, the concept was ahead of its time. Currently the craze is television series and with the future and with the future being digital i hope Aditya Chopra and YRF Television make a comeback to web based tv series. Two other important characters in Rishta. Shiv who had won the Filmfare best debut for Shaitaan , has acted in several movies and serials since then, apart from being a popular anchor and is currently playing an interesting character of Lord Subhramanium in Selection day. This too is a Netflix series and after a popular season 1, a season 2 is expected soon. There are a wide variety of clients, many of whom have their own ideosyncracies, peculiarities and quirks. Shruti and Kavi treat all of them with respect befitting to customers and also genuinely try to match them up with befitting partners. I have a feeling that Rishta. Being a series on Sony Entertainment television, there are no language and inappropriate scenes issue which is a problem for family viewing in most of nowadays web based content. Friends watch the series, you will like it. Thank you Netflix for bringing this serial to us as otherwise we would have missed it. Makers of the series, why not start something like Rishta. I assure you it will be a huge hit. Web television series are here to stay. The reason is simple, the writer and director is not confined to a strict hour time span of a feature film, and with decreasing attention-span of audience a minute episode is just perfect for the viewer. The viewer can also decide to watch one episode at a time or do binge-watching. They are also the writers along with Alankrita Shrivastava who had made the critically acclaimed Lipstick under my burkha. Season 1 has 9 episodes and every episode shows the planning of at least one wedding by the wedding planners and how their own personal life goes on in the process. Flashback into earlier life and young age is liberally used by the makers to show how the past has an inextricable link with the present. Both Karan and Tara have their own dark secrets. The marriages shown are extremely realistic, whether ranging from that of a business tycoon or a political leader, a Wharton graduate or an IAS officer. We are taken though various interesting situations and the dark side of weddings and human nature as well. Social evils such as dowry are touched upon. It is also seen that the 2 main wedding planners Karan and Tara get involved in the personal life of their clients which raises a debate as well in the mind of the viewer- Should they simply be professional and do their job, or set out to help their clients in personal matters. The 9 episodes are titled All that glitters is gold, Star Struck lovers, Its never too late, The price of love, A marriage of convenience, Something old something new, A royal affair, Pride and Bridezilla and The great escape. The titles offer a clue to the main theme of the episode. The talented Vijay Raaz appears in a couple of episodes and Deepti Naval makes a very special appearance in episode 3, Its never too late , which is about a couple, both 60 plus who decide to get married and Deepti faces opposition from her 30 year son and daughter who feel embarrassed. How do Tara and Karan handle it? Watch Made in Heaven to have an idea on Delhi weddings and the funny, dramatic , social and personal side to weddings. It is an engrossing series and I am sure you will like it. I did. A query was raised by a friend as to the role of censorship. Only if shown in a theatre for public exhibition. Hence censorship not applicable. Who ignited 2 Million dollars in cash to keep his daughter Manuela warm when they were in hiding. Yes it was none other than Pablo Escobar, infamous drug-lord, on whom the 1st 2 seasons of super-hit serial Narcos is based. From someone who was so poor that once he was sent home as he had no shoes, Pablo became a multi-billionaire many times over and was in the top ten list of Forbes. Burning of notes is an urban legend but the fact is that his gang used to collect huge cash. His drug trade smuggled 15 tonnes of cocaine daily. He offered to pay off the entire National debt of more than 10 Billion dollars in return for amnesty. Murder was second nature to Escobar. More than people were killed by him including more than Judges, policemen, journalists and Government workers. Escobar also perfected the art of bribing. One airport manager of a small Columbian airport was paid pounds per flight allowed access. When he was arrrested he had 15 million pounds in his bank account. Pablo was making so much money that there were sometimes laughable mistakes. Once 5 million pounds in cash was loaded on the wrong ship, and the crew took it away. There are many such stories about Escobar which are well known. Read on. Rich men have interesting tastes. For Escobar, having a personal zoo was one. It was named Hacienda Napoles and apart from concrete dinosaurs built by Escobar for his son, the zoo had antelopes, bison, zebras, ponies, ostriches, exotic birds, elephants and giraffes. Among the various other animals numbering hundred plus his zoo had were 4 hippos , which Escobar had smuggled into Columbia. Pablo , like a king had free entry to his zoo and busloads of schoolchildren used to enjoy guided tours. Escobar, at the entrance to the zoo, had a replica of the 1st airplane which flew in cocaine to the United States. The zoo had dinosaur statues, replicas of prehistoric animal statues like the mammoth and decommissioned military vehicles. After Escobar was shot, his zoo was taken over as well and the animals donated to regular zoos. However the 4 hippos were left alone. Little did the enforcement agencies and Government think about the consequences. Well, the 4 quickly multiplied to 16, and currently no one knows how many hippos there are in the area, with estimates ranging from 40 to Now a Hippo is typically an African animal. Hippos are grass eaters. However when they are threatened by habitat loss they become dangerous and unpredictable. At the same time they are charismatic animals and attempts to castrate them, or kill them may invite unpopular public opinion and has done in the past. Eating the hippos is not a solution as they may transmit dangerous diseases. Yet, some decision has to be taken as otherwise the population may exceed hundred within a few years. This is because in Africa, their natural habitat, drought, dryness, and lack of water and food leads to natural deaths. However, drought is not there in Columbia, and food and water is in plenty too. Hence the population will grow unchecked by natural causes. A National Geographic article has contrasting views of environmentalists on whether the impact of the hippos was positive or negative. Popular belief is that its likely that there will be an unchecked hippo population explosion. Some however say that there is no such threat. An expert view is that Hippos are living in Hippo Heaven, in a conducive habitat, and there is no threat. Let us review the movie. Pics credit; BookMyShow. Pics Credit; India Today. Well done Director Soumendra Padhi. Hopefully we will have a season 2 of Jamtara. Certainly, Season 2 will be eagerly looked forward to. Looking forward to seeing him in it and also Season 2 of Paatal Lok We will certainly see much more from the hugely talented Jaideep Ahlawat. The above is so satirical, and satire plays a major part in this web-series. Pic Credit; Netflix. Looking forward to Season Two. Pics Credit; Hindustan Times. Subscribe Subscribed. Sign me up.
