Очень понравилось жилье. Очень высокие потолки и двери, все чисто и достаточно уютно. Дом находится в центре на очень оживленном бульваре. Our stay at matilde was really special and really nice. Our room was clean and with a good shower and good beds. Above al, the location is the best you could have. From the terras you have a beautiful view over te city and the casa is in the center of the center. Matilde was a perfect host. She speaks no english but she does everything to communicate in spanish, which works out fine. It was her birthday when we arrived and we were invited to her party, which we really enjoyed. I liked this house a lot. There are two large rooms. The host is very friendly; he lives in a separate part of the house buy is out a lot of the time, so you often have the house to yourself except for the dog, who is friendly but quiet. There is a lot of room in the house to relax, with seats and benches to sit and read etc. The location is very convenient…it is close to the main squares and plazas, and to the boulevard. The streets are a little complicated in Sancti Spiritu but it is easy to find restaurants and shops from the house etc. I suggest taking a taxi to arrive at the house initially, however. And the view from the terrace outside the room is so lovely, the flat is in the centre so you can see across Sancti Spiritus and you can pick up wifi if you need it! This place is a step above the typical Casa Particular in Cuba. The Owner and Managers are doing a great job creating a very affordable comfortable modern hotel. The hotel is about one block from the old part of the city. When we arrived there had been some sort of confusion and only two rooms were available though we had reserved three. The breakfast was particularly good and very generous and they were in the process of opening a small restaurant in the building which would add some additional options for guests. The host, Yleana, is very kind to their guests. She bought some drinks instead of me and introduced some places she recommend to visit in detail. We stayed with Ilyana and Joaquin during a bicycle tour of Central Cuba and both agreed that this was one place we definitely want to return to and spend a lot more time exploring. The casa is situated on a pedestrian only area that was bustling with activity during the day, yet peacefully quiet at night. The private room and bath were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The refrigerator in the room came in very handy for chilling our water and cervesas that Joaquin thoughtfully brought us after we rolled up hot and sweaty on our bicycles. The balconies off the bedroom and main living room offered spectacular views of the mountains in the distance and the activities below. The breakfast that we had was one of the best in Cuba. Delicious and huge! Important if you are setting out on a long bike ride to the next town. But far and away the very best part of our stay was Ilyana, herself. She went out of her way to help us with all manner of things, even walking us directly to the door of the Wi-Fi place and then to a great restaurant. She gave us privacy when we needed it, but was very open and friendly, and an absolute joy to talk with. She is an English teacher, so speaks perfect English, but also helped us with our Spanish, too! The only caveat I might make is that you will have to climb a couple of flights of stairs, which could be a problem for someone with mobility issues. Just do yourself a favor and book here. The place is wonderful and very clean! We felt directly well! Her husband even organized us a ride to Trinidad in the morning, which was fantastic! That was certainly a memorable stay in Cuba! This hostal was an incredible experience. I stayed here for 22 days and never had a problem. During my stay, I even became sick with an awful throat and flu-like symptoms, so the wonderful hostess Sra. Karen made me tea and salt water to help. This place is slightly outside of the main area of Sancti Spiritus, but a motor taxi fixes that problem. If you feel comfortable walking, it is only 10 minutes into the main Boulevard.
