Reinforcing the maxim that the year only ends when it ends, December came with an important announcement in the corporate technology market: Salesforce acquired collaboration software vendor Slack, in a $ 27.7 billion deal.

The acquisition - details leaked out last week - will integrate Slack's business chat application with Salesforce's cloud tools, serving as the new interface for its Customer 360 product portfolio.

"Together, Salesforce and Slack will shape the future of business software and transform the way everyone works in the all-digital world and work anywhere," said Salesforce President and CEO Marc Benioff in a statement . The acquisition was announced after the closing of financial markets in the USA, on Tuesday afternoon (01).

In fact, information technology specialists can work in various areas of information technology. They work in the help desk to redress the problems that end users face.

"The opportunity we see together is huge," said Stewart Butterfield, Slack's CEO and co-founder. “As software plays an increasingly critical role in the performance of each organization, we share a vision of reduced complexity, greater power and flexibility. Personally, I believe this is the most strategic combination in the history of software and I can't wait to get started. ”
