Sailfish OS Beta for Jala Accione P

Jala announced Sailfish OS Beta support for Accione P on February 23. Registrations for the Beta program were opened on the same day. Jala decided to offer support only for the more expensive P variant because of its wide array of sensors. Jolla's and Jala's collaboration for the Latin American version of Sailfish OS was announced in February 2017 in Mobile World Congress and the companies have put more than a year of joint development effort into the software.

Sailfish X Official for Planet Computers Gemini PDA

Sailfish X official version complete with Android support and other proprietary parts was finally announced in this year's Mobile World Congress on February 26 in Barcelona. The collaboration between Jolla and Planet Computers was announced on the same trade fair a year ago. Price for the license is the same as for Xperia XA2 models which is 29,90€. A lot of effort has been put into making the UI fit for the landscape form factor. The latest update brings some of these new tweaks for larger displays like on the Gemini... Which brings us to the next topic: the latest update!

Sailfish OS 3.0.2.8 Update Open for Early Access Users

The latest Sailfish OS update dubbed as Oulanka 3.0.2.8 has just been released for early access users. Oulanka update brings plenty of bug fixes especially for the Sailfish X on XA2 and Gemini PDA devices. The new Android support in particular has received substantial amount of bug fixes. Here are the highlights for the update:

• Major stability improvements for Android 8.1 support
• 7 day weather forecast is shown on the events screen and the weather app on larger screens such as the Gemini PDA
• A new power saving mode has been introduced
• Silence toggle option added for top menu
• New global proxy setting has been added together with a top menu toggle
