Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a fluttering 'B' paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure that features never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever created. The rear tonneau, for instance, featured the largest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to a production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Function
The Bentley Mulsanne Key comes with two buttons: one that opens the trunk, and the other that is used to start the vehicle. The key also has a switch for turning on the parking brake. Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man-hours in order to create and assemble the average Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a reluctance to take advantage of modern technology.
