Sadistic: Lover Kiki Muddar, 43, was obsessed with vampires
This is the sadistic lesbian lover who brainwashed a Muslim mother into killing her eight-year-old daughter.
Obsessive neighbour Kiki Muddar spun a web of fantasy with the sole aim of securing a place in Polly Chowdhury's bed.
She created a cast of 15 characters to entrap the former law firm secretary. Despite only existing on Facebook and via text message, the characters persuaded Chowdhury to kick out her husband and start a sexual relationship with the 43-year-old.
Muddar then convinced Chowdhury that her daughter Ayesha was evil, triggering an almost unimaginable series of events that ended in her death.
In a tragic twist, the little girl left a last heartbreaking note describing how she tried to 'be good' in the face of the torment.
Little Ayesha Ali, who weighed just three-and-a-half stone and had 56 separate injuries when she suffered a blow to the head and died, wrote how she had to change to please the evil couple.
The letter read in part: 'I have to change! I will change, no matter what! If I be rude then nobody will like me!
'I don't like hurting other people's feelings! I don't know how I make myself do these things! I hate getting punishments so I'm gonna make sure I change.'
Last night Chowdhury and Muddar – who blame each other for the killing – faced long jail sentences after an Old Bailey jury convicted them of manslaughter.
But those behind the investigation are still struggling to understand how an ordinary mother could turn on her own child with such barbarity.
One source said: ‘Their actions were utterly inhuman. What happened in that house defies belief. It was as if she was bewitched.’
Chowdhury was described by her charity worker husband as the ‘perfect mother’ to their bright ‘chatterbox’ daughter Ayesha. But when Muddar moved in next door to their Romford home in 2007, she became embroiled in a fantasy world of lies and sexual intrigue.
The former special school volunteer used alter egos including men, angels and evil spirits to control and seduce her neighbour via more than 40,000 messages. They included a Muslim spirit called Skyman and a paranormal lover called ‘Jimmy’.
Killers: Polly Chowdhury (left), 35, killed her daughter Ayesha Ali with her lesbian lover Kiki Muddar (right) in a twisted romance
Victim: Ayesha weighed just three-and-a-half stone and had 56 separate injuries when she died from a blow to the head at her home in Chadwell Heath, Essex
Muddar was also obsessed with vampires and Ayesha’s mother agreed to bite her daughter’s back as part of the depraved attacks that led to her death in Chadwell Heath, Essex, in August 2013.
Chowdhury became convinced hurting her child would 'stop the gates of hell from opening', the court was told.
Ayesha was found dead in her bedroom on August 29, 2013. She was lying naked, except for a pair of pink knickers, and was covered in bruises.
Bereft: Afsar Ali, the father of Ayesha Ali, broke down outside court when he paid tirbute to his 'beautiful' daughter
Muddar had dialled 999 but when the operator asked what happened she replied: ‘She was a naughty child and mum thought she was possessed by the devil.’
Detectives discovered Ayesha’s final days were spent in unbearable torment as a campaign of abuse focused on her supposed ‘bad behaviour’.
In the 48-hours before her death, which took place in the school summer holidays, she suffered 56 injuries, including bruising all over her body and carpet burns.
The little girl was made to stand in cold baths, beaten, bitten and force fed until she was sick.
Detectives found that on the night before her death, Muddar mercilessly beat Ayesha with a shower head.
Chowdhury then smothered her in an attempt to ‘put her out of her misery’.
Police found the eight-year-old's handwritten notes in her bedroom where she promised to behave to avoid the brutal attacks.
She also made a 'naughty list' of what she did that was 'good' and 'bad' like ‘pulling faces’ and 'huffing and puffing'.
They found that, over the months before the killing, Muddar spun an extraordinary web of deception and imaginary personalities to ensnare her lover.
One of the characters was a man, Jimmy Choudhry, with whom Chowdhury fell in love, despite never meeting him.
Muddar even convinced Chowdhury she could have a sexual relationship with her ‘soul mate’ via her, comparing herself to Whoopi Goldberg in the film Ghost. In the romantic movie Goldberg is ‘possessed’ by murdered Patrick Swayze as he continues his relationship with his lover Demi Moore through her body.
The characters first persuaded Chowdhury that her husband Afsar Ali was cheating on her and should be kicked out.
Tragedy: Ayesha was murdered by a couple in a 'sado masochistic' fantasy world, involving fictional boyfriends, angels and spirits
On trial: Muddar and Chowdhury each claimed it was the other woman who had killed Ayesha, but an Old Bailey jury found them guilty of manslaughter today but cleared them of murder
Abuse: This Met Police image shows how the eight-year-old was found lying naked and dead in her bedroom covered in bruises
Venomous texts were later recovered, including Muddar telling Chowdhury ‘you have no right to ever love or like your evil daughter’ and ‘your daughter will pay.’
Giving evidence, Mr Ali described his wife as ‘kind-hearted to a fault’.
Afsal Ali had told the court how his former spouse had a 'good heart' and 'put other people before herself' but began causing arguments in the family home and became 'completely unrecognisable.'
Ayesha Ali's mother likened sex with her lesbian lover to a scene from the classic Hollywood romance Ghost.
Polly Chowdhury, right, thought that Kiki Muddar was the conduit for her mystery soulmate Jimmy, whom she only knew on Facebook and text.
In the film Ghost dead character Sam, played by Patrick Swayze, possesses the body of a medium so he can touch and dance again with his partner Molly, played by Demi Moore.
But Jimmy was nothing more than a figment of Muddar's dangerous mind, along with a spirit guide called Skyman who egged Chowdhury on, not only to get close to her but to punish her daughter Ayesha.
And it was only after the little girl's death that Chowdhury realised that Muddar had 'groomed' her for sex and none of these characters were real.
Although both women denied it was sexual, the toxic relationship between Muddar and Chowdhury lay at the very heart of the trial.
Muddar's cast of self-serving alter egos helped her become intimate with Chowdhury but in her eyes, Ayesha was getting in the way.
The court was shown 'sexting' between Chowdhury and Muddar under the guise of Jimmy who persuaded her to send a sexually explicit picture.
While she was on remand, Chowdhury told a prison officer that her friend had pains in her body and when she touched her, they would disappear.
She later told psychiatrist Dr Philip Joseph: 'I now realise she groomed me 100%. I never realised it at the time. I was groomed for sex with her.
'Everything changed about her when she had sex with me ... Skyman was doing us a favour because me and Jimmy were not allowed to see each other.
'It was like his soul in her body - like in the film Ghost.'
Soon no family decisions could be made without Chowdury consulting Muddar, who had become her love.
Describing their life after Muddar appeared, he added: ‘It was like she was possessed.’
He tried to move her away from the area - but eventually they split up and Chowdhury moved in with her.
Muddar wept while Chowdhury sobbed into her hands as the verdicts were announced and they face long prison sentences
The jury took 31 hours and 31 minutes to reach the verdicts by a majority of 10-to-two.
Judge Christopher Moss QC remanded the couple in custody ahead of sentence on Friday.
Speaking after the case, Mr Ali, 35, who only learned the full horror of his daughter’s suffering during the trial, said his life had been destroyed.
The court had heard how the pair's depraved relationship revolved around a 'sado masochistic' fantasy world, involving fictional boyfriends, angels and spirits.
Chowdhury was communicating by text and Facebook with 15 different people and spirits which had all been created by Muddar.
As part of the investigation, detectives recovered and analysed 140,000 lines of text from messaging apps and emails, 40,000 messages from a laptop, 1,450 voice recordings which were backed up on Kiki Muddar's phone and 17,000 pages of Facebook messages.
One of Muddar's characters, a Muslim spirit called Skyman, sent messages saying: 'Your daughter can have the pain' and 'your daughter is evil you never disciplined her today'.
Muddar also sent naked pictures to Chowdhury through 'Jimmy', asking her what sexual positions she enjoyed, and Chowdhury admitted she wanted to marry Jimmy despite never meeting him.
Chowdhury was even convinced she was having sexual contact with Jimmy on occasions when she shared a bed with Muddar.
Prosecutor Richard Whittam QC said both women had been exposed as liars since Ayesha's death, but that 'on occasions, truth is stranger than fiction'.
'It's undoubtedly true that the content (of the messages), however strange, even on the basis that the content was fiction, it's true that they were being sent.
'Whoever was persuading who, they were both party to these communications, they shared the content of them, they received them and reacted to them.
'You may think they shared their express distrust of Ayesha Ali.'
Chowdhury and Muddar had been neighbours when Ayesha's mother, who wears a Muslim head scarf, was bringing up her family with her ex-husband.
Letter: In her own words Ayesha became convinced that she deserved the brutal punishments she received - but in reality she was being abused by the people meant to be caring for her
Ordeal: Aysha was almost constantly punished and abused - after her death police found this list she wrote before she died of the good and bad things she did
Chowdhury admitted she had come to hate her daughter and thought that she was 'pure evil' by the time of her death.
The girl's grieving father sobbed in court as he heard the 'livid' Muddar rage about his daughter during the phone call recorded just weeks before the little girl's death.
'I will f***ing drown that witch. Seriously, I'm going to kill her,' said Muddar. 'She's got this evil stare in her like there's pure evil inside her.'
Muddar and Chowdhury had been beating Ayesha for days before she died on the night of August 29, 2013.
Chowdhury said she saw Muddar with her foot on her daughter's throat shortly before she found her apparently drowning in the bath.
She said she dragged her out - and then smothered her with a pillow to 'end her suffering' later that night.
Chowdhury insisted she had no idea Muddar had battered her over the head.
'It took time for it to sink in. It took a very long time for me to get my head round that,' she told the jury.
'I realised I didn't do it and realised the only person responsible, to be able to do it, was Kiki.'
Cowardly: Polly Chowdhury failed in an attempt to kill herself and left this note which tried to blame Ayesha for her own death and the attempt to end hers
Muddar, who did not give evidence, told police she had left the flat that evening and only returned the next morning to find Ayesha dead and Chowdhury with her wrists cut in the bath.
But the jury found both women responsible for Ayesha's death.
Speaking outside court, Detective Sergeant Andy Nimmo said: 'Ayesha Ali was an innocent and defenceless eight-year-old child caught up in a bizarre set of circumstances and manipulated by two adults who were intent on causing her harm.
'Through social media and text, Muddar created a sophisticated web of lies and deceit which took officers months to unpick. What unravelled was a picture of enormous hatred directed towards Ayesha by both Muddar and Chowdhury.
'Ayesha should have been able to turn to one person who she could trust - her mother - but Chowdhury had allowed herself to become influenced by Muddar and together they inflicted serious emotional and finally physical harm on Ayesha.
'What the motive behind the campaign of abuse was remains unclear. What is painfu
