L.A. singer/multi-instrumentalist Talker , aka Celeste Tauchar , has shared a new single and video with the release of “Sad Chick.” An anthemic confessional, “Sad Chick” explodes as Tauchar’s confessional for what she calls her “depression habits,” those little routines that both maintain and help foster her helplessness. Cataloging all the ways in which she sees herself as just another sad chick, Tauchar rails against a backdrop of heady percussion and grumbling riffs.
The music video for the single, directed by Sean Berger and co-produced by Tauchar herself, sees the singer swaying by her lonesome against a variety of city backdrops with a trio of balloons in her hand. It then cuts to shots of her sitting in an armchair overlooking an expanse of city lights and then to her sitting alone in a bedroom — still with her balloons — underscoring the tired isolation and feelings of not being understood that she gasps out on the song. It’s a whimsical juxtaposition to the song’s heavy-hitting honesty about the vicious cycles of depression and its frantic finale only adds to the song’s lucid openness.

Local songwriter Celeste Tauchar earned her stripes touring with bands like Frenship, but has proven her independent prowess with her new EP as talker. The leading singles were a good indication of what was to come, and the full release packs a punch. The record is due out tomorrow, but…
It’s hard to find yourself. talker has experienced her fair share of growing pains; her new song, “Suck Up,” co-written and produced with Dan Sadin, releases all the pent-up frustration that comes with self-exploration. Perhaps in spite of the lyrics, the guitars are confident and unrelenting. It is a strong…
I’m calling it now: Madame Siam is currently LA’s trendiest venue. There are benefits and drawbacks to the title, but a fun time will always be had at this underground spot. Tuesday night’s show was put on by We Found New Music and put together by Celeste Tauchar, who served…

Yesterday, one of my two chicks died. I got them from a pet store and were sick when we picked them up. The male chicken has blue around his eyes and his eyes are shut with mucus. I used Q tips that were dipped in warm water to try to remove them, but its still there. I try to do it often.
He is also not eating normally. I tried putting his head into the food but he wont eat. I cleaned everything in the box thats in my room. The feed is Purina Starter Feed, Non medicated.
So far, he only had white wet droppings, which I assume is urine. Some of his feathers seems to be rough, like really dry or something.
I have a lamp that I put over the box and try to keep temp at 75F, but due to recommendations, I will try to increase it. All he does is sleep. I put a plush toy in there so he can be comforted.
Sometimes I take him out of the box and put him on my lap so he feels some sort of love.
Please help. I posted another thread thats basically this but I wanted to make another one in this forum. I will post a picture if needed.
[UPDATE] Mucus from the right eye has been removed, he can see from it. But theres still some on his left.
When I picked him up, I noticed small insects crawling on me, is this chicken mites? How do I remove them and prevent them?

Are you in the United States?

How old is this chick? Does it have feathers or just chick down/fuzz? A photo would help.

Flush the eyes with saline. It needs to be saline and not plain water. Eye drops that moisten the eye will work. Then put a drop of an antibiotic ointment in each eye twice a day.

Did you buy these chicks because you thought you were rescuing them? It was a kind act and your heart is good, but paying a store owner that abuses the animals they sell only keeps the evil going.
