Banking industry is also working for their "blockchain share", but not on cryptocurrencies, well, at least not for "now". It's beyond obvious such industry is developing their own blockchain technology. Even though theirs/ours "economic system" is flawed by design, fact is...it can be done better!
An open-source platform for the purpose already exists, it's called Corda. It matters to keep a clean track on processed transactions. Notice SWIFT Network isn't a bank nor a payment processor, I rather call them a "linker", cause it's indeed what they do, "link" banks through ISO codes and messages across the globe. Recently SWIFT released a PoC of a gateway which allows Corda to interact with their GPI solution.
Notice how this is the beginning of Corda to integrate stable cryptocurrencies as Tether, USDC, TrueUSD, etc...
The long night is coming, and debt is coming with it!
