Shweta Basu Prasad (born 11 January 1991) is an Indian actress known for her works in television, Hindi cinema, Telugu cinema and Tamil cinema. She won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for her role in Makdee (2002). After Iqbal (2005), she transitioned to adult roles and found success with Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008), The Tashkent Files (2019), and OTT platform films and web series such as Serious Men (2020), Criminal Justice (Season 3, 2022), India Lockdown (2022), Jubilee (2023) and Tribhuvan Mishra: CA Topper (2024). Shweta has also worked in Bengali language films. She made a documentary on Indian classical music, and has produced and written for short films. She made her directoral debut with the short film Retake in 2023.

Vedantam Raghavayya

Vedantam Raghavayya (8 June 1919 –19,October 1971) was an Indian film director, dance choreographer, and actor known for his work in Telugu and Tamil cinema. An accomplished Kuchipudi dancer, he was honoured with the title "Bharata Kala Prapurna" by the Andhra Pradesh government in recognition of his expertise. Raghavayya began his career as a dance choreographer, working on films such as Raithu Bidda (1939) and Swarga Seema (1945). He made his directorial and production debut with Stree Sahasamu (1951). He went on to direct many notable films, including Devadasu (1953), Annadata (1954), Anarkali (1955), Prema Pasam (1956), Bhale Ramudu (1956), Chiranjeevulu (1956), Suvarna Sundari (1957), and Rahasyam (1967). In addition to his work behind the camera, Raghavayya appeared as an actor in films such as Mohini Rukmanigada (1937), Garuda Garvabhangam (1943) and Raksharekha (1949). He was also a co-owner of the film production house Vinodha Pictures. Raghavayya's influence extended beyond cinema. He served on the committee of the First General Council of the Andhra Pradesh Sangeetha Nataka Academy, representing dance, and was nominated as the President of the National Dance Festival in 1964. He also mentored notable dancers, including Bhagavathula Yagna Narayana Sarma, a Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, under his fellowship.

Suvarna Sundari (transl. Golden beauty) is a 1957 Indian Telugu-language swashbuckler film directed by Vedantam Raghavayya. It stars Anjali Devi and Akkineni Nageswara Rao with music composed by P. Adinarayana Rao. The film was produced by Adinarayana Rao under the Anjali Pictures banner It was simultaneously shot in Tamil as Manaalane Mangaiyin Baakkiyam (transl. Husband is a woman's fortune). Gemini Ganesan played the male lead in the simultaneously shot Tamil version. Lata Mangeshkar suggested that Suvarna Sundari be remade in Hindi instead of dubbing the film. It was then made in Hindi with the same title as the Telugu version. Nageswara Rao and Anjali Devi did their roles in the Hindi version as well. The shooting of the film was held at Venus Studios, Madras and the outdoor shooting was held at Shimsha falls, Mysore. The film was released through Chamria Talkie Distributors, headed by Sundar Lal Nahata, and it set a record at the box office by celebrating 50 days in 48 centres and completed 100 days in 18 centres.

P. Adinarayana Rao

Penupatruni Adinarayana Rao (21 August 1914 – 19 August 1991) was an Indian music director, film producer, lyricist and play writer. He co-founded "Aswini Pictures" with Akkineni Nageswara Rao and produced some movies in Telugu and Tamil. Later, he produced several blockbuster Telugu films under his own production house, Anjali Pictures, named after his actress wife, Anjali Devi. He also composed and produced music for several Tamil and Hindi films. According to the music critic V. A. K. Rangarao, "Adinarayana Rao is credited for introducing Hindustani music in contemporary flavour and simplified orchestration, and thereby impressing both laymen audience as well cognoscenti. It is this music that survives him enthralling all the music lovers". Memorable music compositions from Rao are: "Rajasekhara Neepai Moju Theera Leduraa" in the film Anarkali released in 1955, "Piluvakuraa Alugakuraa" in the film Suvarna Sundari released in 1957, "Telugu Veera Levaraa Deeksha Booni Sagara" and "Vastaadu Naraju" in the film Alluri Seetarama Raju released in 1974 and all songs including "Ghana Ghana Sundara" in Bhakta Tukaram, released in 1973. Some of his most popular compositions come from Suvarna Sundari and include Hayi hayiga Amani Saage (Telugu), Kuhu Kuhu bole Koyaliya (Hindi), and Thesulavuthe (Tamil). Music directors such as Satyam, T. V. Raju, M. Ranga Rao,"JosephKrishna" and Laxmikant–Pyarelal worked under him as assistant directors.

Suvarna Sundari is a 2023 Indian Telugu film directed by Surendra Madarapu, produced by ML Lakshmi under S Team Pictures banner. The music was by Sai Karthik. The film was edited by Prawin Pudi. It starred Jaya Prada, Sakshi Chaudhary, Poorna, Avinash Yelandur, Kota Srinivasa Rao, P. Sai Kumar, Nagineedu and Satya Prakash.
