STRIKING DOCTORS!
👤 DMFStriking Doctors!

Where is EMA?
I was on phone call with one of my junior Dr. Abdulrahiman (intern) from Mombasa, Kenya and that friend of mine said, “ doctors are on strike due to interns salary reduction from 1,100 USD to 500 USD)”.
That’s when I felt as if I was electrocuted. Apparently, 1,100 USD is not even close to what a professor earn in government facilities in Ethiopia.
The government of Kenya declared that they are about to deduct interns pay and the doctors union of Kenya refused. therefore, the Kenyan medical doctors are on strike for the past 40+2 days and still on an on going strike. Isn’t that amazing that they can refuse and got each other’s back?
My point is just to know:
😠What does the Ethiopian medical association stand for?
🤔Do the EMA even have a purpose?
🧐What is the significance of EMA existence on medical doctors life and life style?
Getting 160 USD salary as a Gp and living a destitute life while paying a house rent 90-120 USD is an existential crisis.
If Mr. Kantie can tie a tie and untie a tie, why can't we tie a tie and untie a tie like Kantie can.
Things must be changed for sustainability:
📌MOH has to be apolitical.
📌EMA has to be free of manipulation.
📌Salary has to rise.
Bonus: have a courage to emancipate yourself from the systematic slavery.
