STANDARDS OF THE HIGHER EDUCATION

ДНВР

Standards of the Higher Education is a set of requirements to the content and results of educational activities of higher education institutions and scientific establishments according to every higher education level within every specialty (Art. 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”).

Standard is a base for formation of the educational programme within a specialty and set the following requirements to the programme:

ECTS credits volume, that is obligatory to get the corresponding higher education level;

List of Graduate’s Competences;

Normative contents of a training of applicants for higher education set in terms of education results;

Attestation forms of applicants for higher education;

Requirements to the operation of the internal control system for the quality of the higher education;

Requirements to the professional standards (if applicable).

E.G.: Adopted standards of the higher education for different specialties

ECTS CREDITS is a point of evaluation of the study load for an applicant for higher education that is needed to achieve the set (expected) study results. The volume of 1 ECTS credit is 30 academic hours.

EDUCATION RESULTS are knowledge, skills, abilities, mind sets, opinions, values, other personal qualities received during the study process, training and development, that can be identified, planned, estimated and measured, as well as those the person can demonstrate after the graduation from the educational programme and exact educational components.

E.G.:

“To describe the action principles through the scientific concepts, theories and methods, and check the results during the design and use of devices, applications and systems of electronics“

“To use information and communication technologies, applied and specialised programme products to solve tasks of design and configuration of electronic systems, to demonstrate programming skills, analysis abilities and to show the results of measuring and control”.

“To analyse the complex digital and analogue information-measuring systems with an expanded architecture of computing and telecommunication networks, including specifications of the chosen technical means of electronics and the corresponding technical documentation”.

“To be able to adopt a new knowledge, progressive technologies and innovations, to find new non-typical decisions and means to its realisation; to meet the requirements of flexibility in overcoming obstacles and achieving goals; to use and norm the time rationally; to keep discipline, to be responsible for own decisions and activities”.

“To respect norms of the modern Ukrainian business and professional language”.

“To show skills of independent and team work, leader qualities, organise work in a limited time conditions with a stress on a professional consciousness”.

COMPETENCY is a dynamic combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, mind sets, opinions, values, other personal qualities that set the ability of the person to lead successfully the professional and/or future education activity.

Integral Competences

• Ability to solve the complex specialised tasks and practical problems, characterised by the complex and uncertain conditions during the professional activity in a field of electronics or during studies, that include the use of theories and methods of electronics.

General Competences

• Ability to use the knowledge in practical situations.

• Ability and understanding of a subject field and understanding of a professional activities.

• Ability to speak the state language orally and in writing.

• Ability to speak the foreign language.

• Skills of use of information and communication technologies.

• Ability to learn and get the modern knowledge.

• Ability to search, treat and analyse the information from different sources.

• Skills of interpersonal cooperation.

• Ability of team working.

• Skills of safe work.

Specific (professional, subject) General Competences

• Ability to use the knowledge and understanding of scientific facts, concepts, theories, principles and methods of design and use of devices, applications and systems of electronics.

• Ability to make the analysis of a subject field and normative documentation needed for a design and use of devices, applications and systems of electronics.

• Ability to integrate the knowledge of fundamental physics and chemistry for understanding of processes of solid-state, functional and energetic electronics, electric technics.

• Ability to take into account the social, ecological, ethical, economic and commercial opinions that influence the effectiveness and results of engineering activity in the field of electronics.

EDUCATIONAL (EDUCATIONAL-PROFESSIONAL, EDUCATIONAL ‐SCIENTIFIC) PROGRAMME is a one complex of educational components (subjects of studies, disciplines, individual tasks, control activities), planned and organised to achieve the needed study results.

On each higher education level, the educational programme determines the requirements to the previous education level of the person that can begin his/her studies for the programme, the list of study disciplines and logical sequence of studies, number of ECTS credits needed for the graduation from this programme, as well as expected study results (competences) of the applicant to get within the corresponding higher education level.

E.G.:

STRUCTURE AND LOGICAL SCHEME OF PREPARATION is a scheme that depicts the sequence of studies of different disciplines and interrelations within the exact study programme. It allows to determine disciplines, that are the base for other ones, and those can be studied in parallel (within one semester).

E.G.:

Structure and Logical Scheme of a Study Programme

Some disciplines are labelled by the code, including:

ЗО1 – Mathematical Analysis; ЗО6 –Bases of Programming; ЗВ2 – History disciplines; ЗВ8 –Foreign Language; ПО1 – Bases of Measuring Technics; ПО6 – Methods of Acoustic Signals Treatment; ПО12 – Acoustic Measuring; ПВ1- Pre-Diploma Practice; ПВ2 – Thesis Preparation etc.

STUDY PLAN is one of the normative documents of the education institution that is used to organise the study process.

Study plan includes the distribution of the credits within disciplines, study process schedule, the semester curriculum that determines the study volume of disciplines, forms of the educational classes and its volume, forms of current and final control, state attestation.
