Spono EaglesSpono Eagles is a Swiss women's handball club from Nottwil founded in 1971. Reaching the Swiss Premium League in 1988, it has been a regular in EHF competitions since the 1990s, and it won three national championships between 2000 and 2006. Spono's best international results to date were reaching the Round of 16 of the EHF Cup and the Challenge Cup. In its three appearances in the Champions League it was defeated in the first qualifying round. 2015 they changed the name from Spono Nottwil to Spono Eagles.

LC Brühl is the championship's most successful club by a large margin with 31 titles including two 11-years winning streaks, followed by ATV Basel-Stadt with four and TSV St. Otmar and Spono Nottwil with three. Currently the league is contested by eight teams. The champion is granted a spot in the Champions League's qualifying tournament.

Frauen SHV-CupThe Frauen SHV-Cup (german) or Coupe du Suisse féminine de handball (french) is an annual single-elimination tournament for Swiss women's handball clubs organized by the Swiss Handball Federation (SHV). It was created in 2000. LC Brühl is the most successful team in the competition with twelve titles, followed by Spono Nottwil with six and LK Zug with four.

2023–24 Women's EHF European LeagueThe 2023–24 Women's EHF European League is the 43rd edition of EHF's second-tier women's handball competition, running from 23 September 2023 to 12 May 2024. Ikast Håndbold are the defending champions, but they won't be defending their title due to their involvement in this season's Champions League. Storhamar Håndball Elite became the first Norwegian team to win the title, defeating Romanian side, CS Gloria Bistrița, in the final.
