New York, October 2023 — Saturday Night Live kicked off its 49th season with a sharp political satire, taking aim at former President Donald Trump in a series of sketches that left audiences laughing—and debating.

The episode, hosted by a surprise guest, featured a returning cast member impersonating Trump in a courtroom parody, referencing the former president's ongoing legal battles. The sketch portrayed a defiant yet comically distracted Trump, quipping about his indictments and sparring with a judge played by Kenan Thompson.

In another segment, SNL revived its iconic 'Trump Town Hall' format, this time framing it as a late-night infomercial where the former president hawked 'limited-edition' NFTs and merchandise, poking fun at his post-presidency business ventures.
