'Saturday Night Live' Cold Open Skewers Political Chaos with All-Star Cast

The sketch opened with James Austin Johnson reprising his spot-on impression of President Joe Biden, delivering an Oval Office address that quickly devolved into a chaotic press conference. Reporters played by Bowen Yang, Ego Nwodim, and Chloe Fineman shouted increasingly absurd questions, including, 'Mr. President, is it true Congress is now just a TikTok dance battle?' and 'Did the Speaker of the House actually trade the gavel for a Stanley Cup?'

The scene took a turn when Kate McKinnon made a surprise return as a baffled, alien-abducted version of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, staring blankly at a chart of government funding before whispering, 'I think the lizards already control the budget.'

The biggest laugh came when guest host Ryan Gosling appeared as a deadpan Senate intern, silently handing out coffee while muttering, 'I was Ken. Now I fetch amendments. This is worse.'

The sketch ended with Johnson’s Biden cheerfully declaring, 'Folks, the government might shut down, but SNL never will—thanks to our writers… who we actually pay!' before the cast broke into an impromptu dance to My Chemical Romance’s 'Welcome to the Black Parade,' symbolizing the nation’s descent into political madness.
