A driver called 911 after finding Papini, of Mountain Gate, about 4:30 a.m. Thanksgiving on a road near Interstate 5 in Yolo County. She'd been missing since Nov. 2 and described her alleged abductors as two Hispanic women with a gun. When asked to elaborate on scanner reports that Papini, 34, was found 'chained to something,' Bosenko noted that his agency has not phrased it that way. 'We weren't specific on how she was restrained,' he said. 'After being released, dropped off, however you want to refer to it, she walked to a nearby church, and then nobody was there, and then walked to I-5 near Road 17, where she flagged down a motorist.' While the same dispatch reports indicated she was 'heavily battered,' Bosenko also would not specify what kind of injuries Papini had. But he did confirm the type of injuries that get someone 'treated and released,' as Papini was. 'When you say, 'treated and released' ... no different than if you went up to the ER for a sprained ankle, they treated you and released you. Now, if you had a compound fracture due to that bone being broken, then you'd probably be admitted, have to stay for a few days,' Bosenko explained. He also said his earlier use of the word 'assault' to describe Papini's injuries was based on the 'heavily battered' comment. 'We're not providing the details, other than they were non-life threatening and that she was treated and released,' he said of the injuries. Alison Sutton, a driver who said she saw Papini on the side of the road and called 911, told the New York Daily News that Papini 'didn't look like she was hurt, but she did look scared.' She told the News that Papini was waving some type of fabric for help and 'was not appropriately dressed for as cold as it was.' Bosenko said Papini's description of her alleged captors was 'very limited,' and he would not say whether she had seen them or may have been blindfolded. 'At the time, again, she gave us very limited information of the suspects, and part of that was based on her trauma, emotional trauma,' he said, noting that 'sometimes the mind can block off traumatic events from recollection.' Bosenko said people should always be cautious when in public and preferably exercise in pairs or groups, but they should also remember that 'abduction, whether it be targeted or random, is rare.' His investigators 'worked through the Thanksgiving holiday, including the weekend' to find the ones allegedly responsible for Papini's disappearance, Bosenko said. That includes continued reviews of surveillance footage and cellular tower information, he said.

mrv , такие травмы ожидаемы в обоих случаях... Жаль, что нет подробностей: ни о носе, ни о том, чем били (кулаком, плёткой и т.п). Клеймо, конечно, - специфика. Вряд ли бы её клеймили сами похитители, до продажи в рабство. Даже сомнительно, что настоящие работорговцы сейчас клеймят, а в фантазиях у "увлекающихся" это присутствует.

Jeanna , жалко, что содержание "сообщения" скрывают... Наверняка, какая-то интересная наводящая информация. Не могло ли быть местью за "старые дела"? Может, кого-то ещё в юности обидела... При этом, люди знали, что обвинение в имитации к ней легко прилипнет... Может быть, она даже знает, кто её похитил, но боится, и вынуждена врать, что и приводит к нестыковкам.

The unfortunate side is that some people have been sitting in angering, expectant positions, waiting for the gory details. Rumors, assumptions, lies and hate have been both exhausting and disgusting. Those people should be ashamed of their malicious, subhuman behavior. We are not going to allow those people to take away our spirit, love or rejoice in our girl found alive and home where she belongs. I understand people want the story, pictures, proof that this was not some sort of hoax, plan to gain money or some fabricated race war. I do not see a purpose in addressing each preposterous lie. Instead, may I give you a glimpse of the mixture of horror and elation that was my experience of reuniting with the love of my life and mother of our children. Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see upon my arrival at the hospital nor the details of the true hell I was about to hear. The mental prison I was in over the past three weeks was shattered when my questions of my wife’s reality became known. The officers warned me to brace myself. My first sight was my wife in a hospital bed, her face covered in bruises ranging from yellow to black because of repeated beatings, the bridge of her nose broken. Her now emaciated body of 87 pounds was covered in multicolored bruises, severe burns, red rashes and chain markings. Her signature long blond hair had been chopped off. She has been branded, and I could feel the rise of her scabs under my fingers. She was thrown from a vehicle with a chain around her waist, attached to her wrists and a bag over her head. The same bag she used to flag someone down once she was able to free one of her hands. Sherri was taken from us for 22 days and suffered incredibly through both intense physical agony and severe mental torture. My reaction was one of extreme happiness and overwhelming nausea as my eyes and hands scanned her body. I was filled with so much relief and revulsion at once. My Sherri suffered tremendously, and all the visions swirling in your heads of her appearance, I assure you, are not as graphic and gruesome as the reality. We are a very private family [who] do not use social media outlets prior to this grotesque tragedy. My love for my wife took [precedence], and it was clear we had to be exposed in ways we never would have been comfortable with. So please have a heart and understand why we have asked for our privacy. This will be along road of healing for everyone. Ultimately, it was Sherri’s will to survive that brought her home. Thank you. "

Это всё было в ранних статьях, в начале расследования. Потом шериф переменил свою позицию, и даже ФБР не посчитало это исчезновение похищением и ни разу не назвало Шерри "жертвой преступления". Ещё раз повторяю - нет никаких документальных или официальных подтверждений словам мужа о каких-то ужасных телесных повреждениях: нет ни фото, ни видео, ни мед. документов, полиция всегда говорила, что её повреждения были супер легкими ("не страшнее подвернутой ноги"), сама жертва никогда не появлялась на публике (до сих пор!), ничего не рассказывала о своём здоровье, никогда не публиковала свои фото. На видео около церкви когда её нашли, она резвенько бегает взад-вперед безо всяких следов каких-либо повреждений. А муж мог придумать всё, что угодно - ему это выгодно было, чтобы не пришлось возвращать собранные деньги и не выставить себя идиотом, от которого жена сбежала к любовнику, бросив его с двумия маленькими детьми. Всё, что вы приводите по ссылке в сочинении мужа - полная лажа, он врет как дышит, т.к. в конце он там пишет, как они любят тайну своей частной жизни и не любят известности и соц. сети, а на самом деле он только и занимался тем, что выставлял эту историю в интернете, и не только активно писал в соц. сетях, но даже приглашал телевизионщиков "с центрального канала" (одного из крупнейших телеканалов по США, о них сделали несколько передач (я их смотрела), а также отправлял свою историю во всю возможную желтую прессу, включая британскую и даже австралийскую (я их читала). Не говоря уже о том, что они наняли не только пиарщика, но и агента по интеллектуальной собственности из Лос-Анджелеса, чтобы продать свою историю "похищения" для кино или книги (но у них не получилось). Т.е. прежде всего они хотели хорошенько нажиться на всем этом, не возвращая при этом 50 тыс. долларов, которые они собрали попрошайничеством. Поэтому и история с ужасными травмами глубоко страдающей жертвы усиленно продвигалась, а все, кто ей не верил, выставлялись жестокими бессердечными скептиками. При этом сама жертва усиленно пряталась от любых журналистских вопросов, а на все вопросы полиции отвечала "потерей памяти".
