1. The Delhi Police on Thursday opposed the bail pleas sought by activists Sharjeel Imam, Umar Khalid and other accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case, and argued before the Supreme Court that intellectuals involved in terrorism are more dangerous to society than those operating on the ground.
Sharjeel Imam has been in jail since 2020 and faces several charges, including sedition and Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
2. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four more prime accused involved in the Delhi Red Fort area terror incident.
3. The Supreme Court held that the Court cannot impose any timelines for decisions of the President and the Governor on granting assent to Bills under the Constitution. The Apex Court pronounced its opinion advisory on whether it can impose timelines on the President and State Governors for acting on Bills passed by State Legislatures.
4. The Enforcement Directorate has filed a chargesheet against businessman Robert Vadra in a money laundering case linked to UK-based arms consultant Sanjay Bhandari. The prosecution complaint has been filed before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court.
5. A Special Task Force of Enforcement Directorate has attached multiple buildings in Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City and Millenium Business Park in Navi Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Bhubaneswar, worth around 14 hundred Crore rupees. In a statement, the agency said, the attachments have been made in connection with bank fraud cases of Reliance Anil Ambani Group under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. With this, the total attachment in the cases now stands at 8 thousand 997 Crore rupees, so far.
6. Faridabad Police has formed a separate Special Investigation Team to look into the activities of Al Falah University, several of whose doctors were arrested in connection with a car blast near Red Fort in Delhi.

Bokaro Steel Limited has formalised a technology transfer agreement with the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory of DRDO, enabling large-scale production of specialised steel sheets for strategic defence applications. 2. India is advancing its deep-sea exploration capability with the upcoming sea trials of the Matsya-6000 submersible at 500 metres off the Chennai coast. The trial marks a major milestone in the country’s ambition to reach the ocean floor at 6,000 metres by 2027 under the Deep Ocean Mission.
3. India has recorded its highest-ever defence production of one lakh 54 thousand crore rupees in 2024-25. The defence exports has also reached a record 23 thousand 622 crore in 2024-25 from less than one thousand crore rupees in 2014.
