How do e-cigs work?
Your e-cigarette has three main components:
- Battery
- Tank or clearomizer (the part that holds your e-juice; typically a glass or plastic vial containing a wick and a coil that heats up)
- E-liquid of your choice
When you activate your e-cigarette, the battery will send a current through the coil (located inside the tank), which is wrapped around a piece of cotton or a wick that is saturated with sg. This heating action causes the juice to evaporate and become vapor, which you inhale and exhale – much like smoking a traditional cigarette, but with some key differences, such as a more pleasant scent and the ability to get your nicotine fix almost anytime and anyplace you like.
Is it legal to vape indoors?
Because vaping does not involve any combustion, e-cigs are not affected by the laws that ban smoking in public places in the UK. However, building owners can still decide whether to allow vaping or not on their property. That means that you will find some places where you can vape and some where you can’t, so it’s always a good idea to check the policy of the establishment you’re visiting. Same goes for flying – be sure to check with the airline before attempting to bring your vaping supplies with you on the plane.
How do I choose the right vaping product for me?
It’s easy to buy a vape online – it’s not always quite so easy to decide which one to buy. If you’re just starting out, you will probably want to avoid complicated vape mods, which can be a little overwhelming for a new user.
