List of football clubs in MexicoThis is a list of football clubs in Mexico. Currently the governing body of football in Mexico is the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF), which is in charge of the Mexico national football team with all its categories and also all the professional divisions of the Mexican football league system, with the top level being the Liga MX. The current FMF was founded in 1927, has been an affiliate member of FIFA since 1929 and a founding member of CONCACAF since 1961. The newly instituted Liga de Balompié Mexicano is unrecognized by FIFA, however, it is a member of CONIFA.

Liga Premier de MéxicoLiga Premier is a professional association football league in Mexico and the third level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Segunda División de México (1950–2017). It has 49 participating clubs, divided into two divisions (Serie A and Serie B). They compete from the fall to spring each season, promotion and relegation between each group, and promotion to Liga de Expansión MX and relegation to Liga TDP within the league system.

Serie A de MéxicoThe Serie A has 39 teams (5 Liga de Expansión MX Reserve Teams and 34 Serie A Teams) divided into three groups. For the 2024–25 season, it will be a return of a short tournament format (Apertura & Clausura) consisting of 11 group matches and 3 inter-group matches (14 total) played home & away and the liguilla. The top two teams from each group and the two best third places at the end of the season will play in the Liguilla for a spot to play for promotion to Liga de Expansión MX provided that their stadiums meet the requirements to ascend. The Serie A was created in the second half of 2008, with the participation and approval of the owners of the teams of the Second and Third Division, being next to Serie B part of the Liga Premier. As of the 2024–25 Season, Atlético Morelia, Celaya, Correcaminos UAT, Mineros de Zacatecas and U. de G. all from Liga de Expansión MX will join the Liga Premier to give young players professional experience. However, only Correcaminos UAT and Leones Negros UdeG will have a reserve team, while Celaya, Atlético Morelia and Mineros de Zacatecas will have an associated team that will have its own identity.

Serie B de MéxicoThe Serie B is a Mexican association football league. Fifteen teams compete in one group. Since the 2024–25 season, it is two tournament per season. The top 8 teams advances directly to the Liguilla to play for promotion to Liga Premier – Serie A, and the stadium must meet the requirements to promote as well. In the 2020–21 season, Serie B was on hiatus due to COVID-19, but Serie B was reactivated for the 2021–22 season.
