Guillermo Cabrera Infante (Spanish pronunciation: [ɡiˈʝeɾmo kaˈβɾeɾa iɱˈfante]; Gibara, 22 April 1929 – 21 February 2005) was a Cuban novelist, essayist, translator, screenwriter, and critic; in the 1950s he used the pseudonym G. Caín, and used Guillermo Cain for the screenplay of the cult classic film Vanishing Point (1971). A one-time supporter of the politics of Fidel Castro, Cabrera Infante went into exile to London in 1965. He is best known for the novel Tres tristes tigres (literally: "three sad tigers", published in English as Three Trapped Tigers), which has been compared favorably to James Joyce's Ulysses.

Ángel Cabrera won his first major championship, one stroke ahead of runners-up Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods, who were unable to birdie the 72nd hole to force a Monday playoff. Cabrera's victory marked the first U.S. Open won by an Argentine or a South American. It was the first of his two major titles; he won the Masters in a playoff in 2009. This was the eighth U.S. Open and eleventh professional major held at Oakmont.

The Strategy of the Snail (Spanish: La estrategia del caracol) is a 1993 Colombian comedy-drama film written by Humberto Dorado based on a story written by Ramon Jimeno, directed and produced by Colombian filmmaker and director Sergio Cabrera. The film stars Frank Ramírez, Florina Lemaitre, Humberto Dorado, Fausto Cabrera and Carlos Vives. The film is a winner of the Berlin International Film Festival and the Biarritz Film Cinema Festival of Latin America. The film is about a group of tenants of an old house in the center of Bogotá who face an illegal eviction by the owner, an arrogant banker. The tenants are led by an untitled lawyer and a Spanish anarchist exile. The film was selected as the Colombian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 67th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.

Sergio Cabrera Cárdenas (born 20 April 1950) is a Colombian film director. He has directed more than twenty films since 1978. He was the subject of Juan Gabriel Vásquez's novel Retrospective. On August 18, 2022, President Gustavo Petro appointed him Colombia's ambassador to China.
