SEO writing, if you are doing it the first time, is a bit tedious since you have to create sentences while thinking how people THINK between the lines, say for example you are selling gardening tools and by default one would immediately think of garden and tools as the best keywords for the article, but a search engine optimization writer will think of other words that will relate to garden and tools, words people may use to describe these items.
So, when you are performing SEO writing, you have to be smart and think in advance what people may normally use to locate you other than the most common keywords. In the case of the gardening tools example, on the top of my head I can think of soil, pots, plants, fertilizers, grass, pests, watering, and greenhouse.
So as a search engine optimization writer, you have to finish your article first, then insert the keywords that you have though of or replace the other words on the article by using the words that you have compiled, restructure some sentences so it would still be grammatically correct and pleasant to the ear making sure that the sentences still make sense.
Of course the search engines are not equipped to detect bad grammar but your readers do and they are the ones buying and believe me, readers take bad grammar into consideration and for them it is a reflection of the professionalism of the owner of the website. And once the articles are published, they are immediately read and there is no bringing them back for revision so as long as you have not released them, make sure that there is no grammar loophole in your articles.
There is no substitute to focused proofreading your work because writing it and reading are two worlds apart and you may be surprised that what you have written may not appeal to you as a reader since while you were writing it, you had so much information in your head you splashed the data all over the article highly disorganized in thoughts.
