Project Description
BAU activities for multiple research and portfolio apps including.
▶ Production Health Management
◆ Incident management
◆ Root cause analysis
◆ Monitoring and health checks
▶ Production defect fixing (shared with Dev team)
▶ Prioritized user requests
▶ Handling data quality issues
▶ Disaster recovery support
▶ Statistics and metrics collection and reporting
▶ Quarterly service reviews, including performance and metrics
▶ Support of technical upgrades (changes to the applications due to infrastructure upgrades and patches)
▶ Requirements documentation within the available resource capacity
Responsibilities
• Work within offshore part of a distributed team that provides BAU („Business as Usual") services for a portfolio of applications.
• Develop application enhancements
• Initial technical analysis of incoming issues
• Resolve incoming incidents and service requests
• Coordinate activities with multiple groups, including deployment and environment support teams
• Applications monitoring
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
• Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues
• Prepare accurate and timely reports
• Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles
Skills
MUST
• BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
• Proven working experience in enterprise technical support, IT support or as a technical engineer
• 3+ years of .NET programming skills
• Strong C# programming skills
• RDBMS Sybase and/or MS SQL Server 2013 is preferable, with a proficiency in writing complex SQL queries
• 1+ year Java programming skills would be a plus
• Good knowledge of Windows, Linux and Solaris systems, utilities and scripting.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with JIRA, Git, TeamCity
• Weblogic/IIS support experience is highly desirable
• Database administration skills is a plus
• Any of HTML/JavaScript/Flex experience would be beneficial
